Mikes the man and will definitely be scheduling more cut from him! Friendly, fast, and very accommodating and I don't feel pressured to say I like it when I don't. Haven't had a fade in over a year so I trusted Mike and he nailed it! Vibe was clean, fast, and professional! read more

This is your next barbershop. Fast, clean, excellent quality. Primo work. Mike is a master technician who will take great care of you.

Overall Mike is wonderful!!! He runs the barbershop by himself, and truthfully just knows his way around my hair. Every time I go, he knows exactly what I want when I ask him, exactly how I want when I ask him. He's extremely professional with me, very kind, and overall a talented barber. The one-star reviews are lying to you. If you're in the La Jolla area and need a barber quick, make sure to make an appointment with him!!! One thing I'd say is that it's often either empty-empty, or someone's in there already. It really matters whether you make an appointment or not, so don't be a bad planner and guarantee a spot for yourself. Walk-ins are either told to come back the next day, or are told to come back at a later time. Another important thing to be aware of is that Mike takes one day off a week, so (and I can't emphasize this enough) make an appointment. Overall, absolutely amazing service, experience, and quality. Every time I walk out of there, I feel like a brand new person. 11/10, have been coming here for ages and recommend you do the same read more

Mike owns and operates this barbershop. He is professional and a perfectionist. I have only gone to him for the past 1.5 years and will continue to go back. He takes pictures and knows exactly what I like every time I come in. 10/10 would recommend this place. Easiest way I found is simply making an appointment online. He's always on time. read more

I am always hesitant to use a new barber who has never cut my hair and doesn't know my style. However, I was passing through La Jolla, really needed a trim and he was open on Sunday. Oh my goodness - it was like he could read my mind. He understood exactly what I wanted and how my hair (which can be difficult) would react. If I lived here, I would be a regular customer of his. Five stars! read more

Amazing and thoughtful on the requested hair cut. Was welcoming and understanding upon arrival and make it feel relaxing to be there.

Mike is the man and super talented. I've been going to him for 2 years and he gets better every time! Highly recommended his services!

Excellent haircut and great service. Easy to schedule an appointment. Will be returning regularly. Highly recommend!

Been coming to Mike for some time now. He has great judgement on a good haircut and will use a variety of professional tools to achieve what you want consistently. I've had a great experience getting my hair cut by Mike! He gives me a great taper fade, exactly as I ask. I can tell that he really knows what he's doing. He's very friendly, cool to talk to, and professional. It was a very reasonable price as well. In addition, the shop is well kept and in a nice area. Parking was not an issue. I've be coming here for the past few months, this is now my go to barber shop here in SD. I definitely recommend getting your hair cut here! read more

Mike is the best! I can't wait to see him again. I always feel like a million bucks when I leave there.

Went to get a messed up haircut fixed, he knew exactly what to do and fixed every area they messed up. One of the best fades I've gotten and he even tried to refuse payment. He's the man read more

Mike did a great job cutting my boyfriend's hair. My boyfriend said it was the best cut he has had in a long time. Mike was super friendly and welcoming. We made a reservation but Mike accommodated walk-ins while we were there, which is great. Street parking only. Cash card or Venmo accepted. read more

Patient and attentive barber. Took his time and was careful with the haircut. Gone here twice and he's my go-to barber now!

Been going to Mike for about a year now! As an Asian male it is actually quite difficult to find someone who can cut Asian hair. It was a godsend when I found this place and the prices are very reasonable ($35 for a haircut). Mike is an incredibly nice person and he will keep you entertained during your haircut! read more

Great haircut! Very nice and awesome attention to detail. Will certainly come back again!

Mike is the best! I've been going here for about a year on a recommendation from a friend and have never been disappointed. Super easy to make an appointment online and he gets you in and out super fast, without compromising on quality. Highly recommend! read more

My first visit since the previous owner retired and Mike took over. He was great- looked carefully at the pictures of me that showed what I wanted, took his time and got it just right. read more

Beautiful sunny day, in La Jolla Village, I had some free time, I like out of the way places, and so I stopped by this tiny, one chair barber shop on a whim...Boy, am I glad I did. If you've never been here, you'll be nervous for a moment, wondering if the soft spoken, up-in-years, proprietor is going to get your cut right...Relax...He will. He's highly skilled, super precise, and does a magnificent job. La Jolla Barber is an "Old School" experience...Clubman Talc? Check. Comfy chairs? Check. Ball game on the TV? Check. Kudos...This hole-in-the-wall spot is worth a walk, or drive from anywhere. read more

Mike is really good at cutting hair. I think he gave me the best haircut I've ever gotten -- highly recommend him

Great service and quick to respond. Mike is the main guy there and he's a high level professional that's been cutting hair for years. I usually get a mid fade on the side and a combover on top and it comes out great every time. Thanks Mike read more

Did a nice job on my hair and is a lot cheaper than any place in La Jolla. Now you can make a reservation by calling or online. Even have football on Sundays. read more

Mike is a great barber and definitely knows his stuff! The haircuts he gives are worth every penny.

Amazing haircut and Mike is a very social and outgoing person. Very enjoyable experience!

Great quality for the price!!! Very kind owner/barber, highly recommend. In La Jolla this is the vibe for a men's haircut

La Jolla Barber Shop Back OPEN! . I wanted to let everyone know that the La Jolla Barbershop is back open. The gentleman that owns it (Mr. Do) is great and you can't beat the prices! I started going to him when we would stay the winter in La Jolla but now that we moved here he's my full-time barber. You can't asked for a kinder guy and he's very experienced. Located at: 7760 Fay Ave. #7 La Jolla, 92037 858-459-5792 See the pictures attached. He's open everyday but give a quick call before you head down just in case there's a change in schedule. read more

Best haircut in town thanks Mike. very convenient and easy to book also. fades came out great.

They say there are no accidents, everything happens for a reason and there is something behind meeting new folks who impact you for a long time. I was fortunate to meet Mr Vuong Do, the nicest, most calm, kindest, coolest person and yes the best barber I have met in a while. Left Wellington Fl on Thursday am and drove 2700 miles to San Diego. Needed a haircut. Found Mr Do's Barber Shop via a Yelp Search. Loved my haircut, loved the experience, loved the interaction- a wise old soul from Vietnam who gave me more than a perfect haircut. He gave a scalp massage and also massaged my neck and traps. It's as if he took my pain and fatigue away. I walked out a new man with not a hint of that 4 day drive from the East Coast. $16 for a great cut in La Jolla Cove is an amazing price. ( $14 for kids). He is open 7 days a week.( Rare and so awesome for a barber shop). The vibe and decor in the shop is old school and so calming and relaxing. Free one hour or two hour parking spots on Fay St. We got talking for a bit and he has 2 sons in Florida( WPB and Tampa) who are fine after Irma. What a beautiful, beautiful human being!! Everything does happen for a reason. Thank you Mr Do!! Looking good and feeling like seventy seven million!!! read more

Does a nice job! Very nice man who takes his time and seems to know his way around a pair of clippers.

After getting cheap haircuts that I wasn't satisfied with for a while, I came here and found an amazing barber in a small pathway between 2 buildings where there's a lot of other salons. This place still super cheap, around $14-16 or something plus tip. The elderly barber is super considerate and does exactly what you asks him to do! He gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in a while! Recommend going here if your looking for a new place and don't wanna spend much money. (Can only speak for guys haircuts) read more

My husband showed Von (barber) photo of hair cut he wanted. He listened, did a great job and is a very nice man. Best bargin in La Jolla($20). Highly recommend! read more

Mr. Do was very nice and gentle which was a very pleasant change from my last barber, who was a bit rough with the clippers. Very inexpensive as well but the only reason I'm taking a star off is because he doesn't take appointments which can be a huge inconvenience. I waited about 40 mins for a haircut because he was halfway through someone's hair when I arrived and there was 1 other person waiting. It's not a huge deal but it's something I'm not used to. All in all it was a good experience. read more

This barber is cheap and fast. My son and I went here for simple cut. Total charge was $30. We both liked the result. More importantly, my wife liked them also. read more

I don't think I've ever written a review about a barbershop before but I needed to. I was in town on vacation from Seattle and needed a haircut before a friend's wedding. At first I was extremely skeptical as this place looks a little off putting from the outside. It's in a little area full of salons though so I gave it a go. The older Asian man took his time and gave me easily one of the best haircuts I've had. Perfect high and tight, great fade. And all for less than $20! read more
