Food was edible but really not too good. Nothing to rave about at all. I got chile verde which is always my go to dish and how I know if the restaurant can cook. It was bad. My mom got Albondigas and the meatballs were hard. Beans and rice were average. Salsa was good, so that's a positive. 11/10/23 Getting breakfast for Sunday. Egg white breakfast burrito ordered. The worker was great and said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went in to get it shortly later. Greeted by a nice worker and the order was ready and handed over after I paid for it. Also wished me a good day! =) Safe & clean restaurant. Low key & calm. 11/12/23 Happy Sunday everyone! Had the deep fried fish today & that sucker was so meaty & I really like the beans.The hubby likes the chili verde dinner but he gets different meals all the time. I don't have pics of them since this yelp isn't my original where allll my check ins are. Very sad about it..Anyway the service is great really friendly & practically knows everyone's name! Classic Fresno County Mexican restaurant. Had a great dinner here on a weeknight. They have michelades and margaritas! We had Pacifico bottled beer -refreshing! The menu has a lot of variety, a lot more Mexican dishes than other places. I stuck to my go to: 2 shredded beef enchiladas with rice and beans. Delicious! I ate everything on the plate. Delicious chips and salsa too! The salsa has a spicy bite but not too much (since I could handle it lol ). Ben recommends the chili relleno and taco plate. We were in Sanger for our nephew's soccer game and came here for lunch with a larger post game group after. The gal working was accommodating, friendly, and our food came out quickly. The food was good but nothing out of this world. No complaints here. Reasonable prices compared to some of spots in Fresno & Clovis. We have been going here ever since they opened years ago. It is the kind of Mexican food served back in 1960s Mexico DF, where I lived for a time. It's authentic, not Amermex food. Not spicy, but flavorful, with spicy condiment compliments as desired, as Mexican food is supposed to be. I support family owned restaurants. Unfortunately, I cannot support this one. I order the Chile Verde and eggs around $16.00 or $17.00 for the plate. There were a few bits of meat, not even cubed. It was like the remnants from the bottom of the bowl. My daughter order the enchiladas and they were not flavorful. The beans were very runny and the potatoes were extremely greasy. Each plate ran around $16. To $17. Dollars. Very little portions for what you pay. It took 15 minutes to get our water and coffee and even longer to get a refill. I finally decided to have dinner here because Velasco's had a 1 hour wait. We walked right in and straight into a seat. I had the fish taco, shrimp taco, and a michelada - amazing!! I thought the shrimp was good and then I had the fish ---- will def be getting more fish tacos from here. Kiddos had the quesadilla meal and a side of fries ---again, awesome crinkle cut fries! NEVER GOING IN AGAIN!!! The food is generally pretty good...not great but all things considered it's pretty good. I'm in Sanger all the time so I go there often; often enough that they know me by name. Tonight I went in and ordered something that I haven't ordered there before, "flautas"...rolled tacos. I was asked what kind of meat I wanted and I said chicken. I then asked if this dish came with rice and beans...I was told "yes it does". My wife and I clearly heard the response. When I got the bill I had a $5.98 charge for rice and beans. I thought it must have been a mistake as I had clearly asked about that before I ordered. As often as we go in there for lunch or dinner I thought that certainly they would just apologize and take the charge off my bill...after all I'm in there all the time; and for that tiny little "dab" of rice and beans, nobody would pay $5.98!!! But no!!! The waitress said" well you got five rolled tacos and most places only give you three...and anyway, I thought you said to add rice and beans on. This is the kind of thing that really gets under my skin. She could see that I wasn't happy about the error and SHE was the one who made the mistake! This is the last time I'll ever go inside that place. They got me for $5.98 but they lost a longtime customer in doing so. read more

I love love love their Chile rellenos, they are so good! Shrimp tostadas are refreshing and great. All their soups are pretty bomb also.

My go to meal is the #10 - the best home-made chili relleno on the planet, along with a fresh, shredded beef tostada and crispy taco (and I save most of it for lunch the next day!). Good size portions. For the family, I love that meals come with albondigas (meatball soup) or salad with homemade dressings. I love the blue cheese dressing. Chips and salsa are also on the house. My husband's favorite is the chili verde burritos. Everyone speaks Spanish and English and the family owned restaurant has employees with years of successful service. Went here for the first time and had such a hard time choosing what to get!!! Ended up getting a wet burrito with chile verde. It was huge and so tasty! I almost didn't finish it, but it was too good to stop eating. That also includes indulging on chips and salsa beforehand. We were attended to not very often and paying was confusing to me. They didn't tell us to take out check to the front. When we got to the front, there were two lines so they didn't say which line was right or where to go. That was my only concern. Service here was fast and on point. They serve really good food here. Children's plate vary from chicken nuggets to burritos. Husband said his enchiladas were very flavorful. I enjoyed the ceviche even though I don't like onions, it was extremely tasty. This is not a fancy restaurant but definitely worth returning to try various items on the menu. Was drinking with friends in a Saturday night. Hung over Sunday morning, so what do you do? Go get breakfast burritos. Went to the restaurant to order some burritos. Burritos and salsa were 5 stars. The 3 stars are for the waitresses. They ignore you and seem more concerned with waiting on their tables for the bigger tips. They kinda disregarded take out orders. Seemed like everyone who was eating their (tippers) were getting their food a lot sooner despite me ordering first. Good food, I guess you just have to dine in to get the service. I've been told by a few people that this is the best Mexican in Sanger, and I wasn't let down - in fact I'd go so far as to say its one of the best Mexican joints in Fresno county. It's tiny and cozy, so it might be hard to get a seat, but so worth it. Everything was done just right, fried crispy and sauced nicely, and the family that runs it was friendly too. What you see in the menu photos is exactly what you get. I had a fat chimichanga and shared a shrimp tostada and enchilada, and all three were awesome. Even the chips were fresh. Absolutely the WORST mexican food I've ever eaten. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and chili verde burrito and it was tasteless and I mean zero taste. Pork was dry the chili verde sauce was as bland as can be just flavorless. The enchilada was as bad both tasted like they were frozen then microwaved. I wasn't the only one all of my family were greatly disappointed in the food. It wasn't the servers fault she was the ONLY thing good there. I live in Sanger and I will NEVER go back and I advise anyone else that there's several other Mexican restaurants in town far more deserving of your patronage. If you want great enchiladas go to Colimas and if you want very good chili verde go to Velasco's. La Hacienditas? Don't waste your time buy store bought frozen burritos they're better. read more
