We liked this place so much our first evening that we returned the next night and would have continued doing so, had we stayed in Bologna any longer. Sitting outside with our Aperol spritzes and Prosecco, while being a fly-on-the-wall amongst the university students was fascinating and engrossing. They all appear so intense, while sitting cross-legged in groups on the grounds of the Piazza G. Verdi. At the same time, you can watch the bike, Fiat, and Vespa riders whizzing by, adding even more flavor. On the inside of La Gazzetta, you can enjoy very reasonably priced beers, wines, etc. and, for an extra Euro or so, enjoy the buffet stuzzicati/tapas that are put out at set times of the day. The bar staff and chef are way cool, laid back, and, given a moment or so, quite engaging. There is a second, larger dining area in the back, as well as the barside, smaller area in the front. Enjoy the chill vibe and fill yourself up on a good time, inside and out. read more
