I loved the chips here :) the flour tortillas large ones are a little on the thinner side so I felt I needed a knife when eating a burrito and I felt the corn tortillas mini taco size were a little too small but delicious. NOW HORRIBLE! Yelp says open 'til 5:pm M-F and Sat 'til 4:pm. Their website says M-F until 4:pm and Sat 'til 3:30pm Before going over, I called during biz hours on Friday and again on Sat. NO DEPARTMENT ANSWERED, and I tried every one. I drove over during website hours and they were closed. A note in the window sez M-F until 3:30pm and Sat until 4:pm. I wasted gas ($6.55 gal) due to their incompetence. My guess is they don't care about customers or negative reviews, or how to do business professionally. This place is awesome. Its located right off the 710 Fwy! You can get flour or corn tortillas. The flour tortillas also come in wheat. They do have different tortillas sizes too. You can make tacos, enchilada, or even breakfast burritos which comes in the XL tortillas. They also sell tortilla chips. They do sell them by the bag for individual eating or for a party. Everything they sell here is price really well that you just want to buy stacks and stacks of tortillas. Good, stone ground corn restaurant style chips. These are as close to fresh fried in the restaurant as you are going to get. These are still way better than those other chips shipped in from the midwest or the ones that come in that unnatural shade of yellow. The factory does it all. Corn and flour comes in, tortillas, tortilla chips, sopes and bags of masa come out. Chips are $2 for 1 lb and $3.50 for 3 lbs. There are much larger bags of chips for sale. I stopped listening after that becuase 3 lbs was all I wanted. Chips are in sealed bags and have "use by dates". Mine was good for at least two more months. Every time I go to my uncle's house I pass by this place. I see people walk out with HUGE bags of chips and it kind of struck my fancy. Instead of doing some internet research, I decided to throw a party. A Taco Tuesday kind of party! So, this lead me to buy the essentials: 3 dozen corn, 3 dozen flour and 1 large bag of tortilla chips. It all cost me $7.00. Pretty good deal right? Well, I think so because they were a hit! The corn tortilla was far better than the flour. This is coming from a person who is a flour tortilla kind of gal too! The place where you make your purchases is small. The woman at the counter was super helpful and nice though. I had all sorts of questions because they didn't have a sign with pricing. Through one of the doors you could see a mass of people in assembly lines working away. The corn tortillas were warm, while the flour one's were cold. This lead me to believe that they don't readily stock fresh flour one's like La Azteca, but that was okay. First time for everything! The chips were crispy and lightly salted. I'm commenting on La Fortaleza's "Sophia's Corn Chips" - the ones fried with Canola oil. They are frankly - addicting! They have a great flavor and a soft crunch. They weren't the cheapest chips but the price difference was worth it. My issue with them is that we have encountered some rancid bags weeks before their expiration date. Now that could have been the fault of the retailer and their storage methods and I can forgive that on occasion. Unfortunately the retailer after 3 years of doing business with them gave us a lot of trouble when we went to exchange them - and this was the only return I had ever done with them. So I'm not going back. That resulted in my second issue - I emailed La Fortaleza 11/13/2014 with these details and asked them what other retailers in our area their Sophia's Chips were available from. They never answered back. So I had to suffer Sophia's Corn Chip withdrawal! We haven't been able to enjoy Sophia's Chips since. I've been sampling every brand I've found in various markets and no tortilla chip has come close. I hope to find Sophia's Corn Chips again somewhere.
