Last year we visited again and found the food to be very ordinary and not reflective of the prices. We raised this with the staff and were told by the owner that the chef had left without warning. Given our long history and good memories, it took us some time, but we decided to give it another chance and returned last Sunday (25/1) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Sadly, the experience was very disappointing. ANTIPASTO DELLA CASA The mortadella, salami, and Wagyu bresaola were very warm, as if they had been sitting next to a fire. They were crispy and oily. We did not send it back, but we didn't eat the meats and only touched the artichokes and sides. LINGUINE MARE We had this dish in October and it was good. This time, the mussels had a strong smell. My wife took one mouthful and couldn't continue. VEAL COTOLETTA My daughter took one bite and said it was raw. After cutting further, it was clearly raw inside, as if it had just come from the butcher. We returned this dish. The waiter came back saying the chef claimed it is "normally raw near the bone." I have never heard of this. Medium or even medium-rare is acceptable, but this was raw. This restaurant used to be one of my favourites, but unfortunately it has gone downhill. It's very sad to say goodbye after so many years, but we won't be returning.

Antoinella called my daughter today and could not remember the previous discussion she had with her 3 weeks ago and didn't even know her name also she advised we have two other groups interested in the same date so you need to make a deposit today or tomorrow. I called Antoinella as it thought it would be easier dealing with me than my daughter since I was the one paying. She was rude and showed no empathy to me not being able to pay today or tomorrow even though I was given the incorrect information. I found her very intimidating and aggressive. Mick and his family are super friendly and it is really nice heading down to the store. They remember regulars and occasionally will give you a small discount or chuck in a freebie. That's the right kind of service if you ask me! My favourite pizza from there is the vegetarian. It is absolutely delicious and I've included a photo for you. Seriously, I cannot recommend this particular one more highly. All the pizzas from Labellas are nice but this one has always stood out and my family love it. Often we order four of the same because yup - it's that good. The shop itself is also really clean and fresh and it always smells good in there. I just had a latte and a ham, cheese and tomato croissant from the breakfast menu. The coffee was decent, the croissant was quite soggy at the bottom which was disappointing. My sister reported her soy chai was delightful. In its heyday, this place was great. Still good for the odd work meeting or breakfast if you work nearby, or for dinner if you live local. I think it just happens to be that better coffee shops and restaurants have moved into the area in recent years and are in closer proximity to the Dandenong CBD so it makes makes coming to Beletti's a bit... unnecessary, for lack of a better word.
