The minute you walk in the door, you feel all your stress and pain slightly go away. There is a sense of calm and peace. It is unlike other acupuncture clinics where its sterile, noisy and not as inviting. Denise is a goddess! She is sweet, gentle, nurturing and very attentive. We have been addressing minor issues, once I have been an acupuncture client for years to keep my health and wellbeing in check. She is gentle and associates Reiki and other modalities during the session what really makes it very pleasant! Last week we were talking about healthy habits and nutrition and she kindly offered me to use acupuncture for cravings and weight management whenever I would be ready to do my part. I thought would be such a great help, and said yes! Well... Since then I decreased my consumption of sweets near to 1/5 from what is my normal and have been literally, stop eating "feeling satisfied" half way my plate still full. The first time I went in for acupuncture i was extremely nervous. I'm not too fond of needles but…read morehave always been incredibly curious about acupuncture. Nicky is warm from the moment you first meet her. You almost feel like you've known her for years even after just meeting and talking with her for five minutes. She spent a good half hour or so going over my history--from medical to family history, mental health... just about everything and I felt like she genuinely cared! After the initial consultation she took me into the room where we'd begin the acupuncture. I told her i was really nervous and she explained that I came to the right person because she practices a very non-invasive Japanese acupuncture (that uses smaller needles than that used in Chinese Acupuncture) She talks me through the first one. I barely felt it go in. Then the next and the next.. by the end of it I probably had about 10 needles or so sticking into various parts of my body and I barely felt any of them go in. It wasn't bad at all. She checked in with me and then left the room, allowing me to relax. I lay there with needles in my toes, my arms, hand and tummy and I felt completely blissful. Apparently acupuncture gives me a little high. After the session I felt like I found an awesome new friend. Nicky is one of the sweetest, most nurturing, coolest women I have ever met. She's very maternal and mom-like but also totally hip and youthful. I always look forward to my sessions with her. I've gone in for sessions when I was experiencing pain and Nicky works her magic with the little needles and the pain is gone and I'm left completely relieved and floating on a little white cloud. :)

I had to wait another year to get more acupuncture which was almost after my second round of physical therapy (also a year later) for my neck n shoulders. I came to Shirley suffering from chronic pain and fatigue and her advice was not only unhelpful but hurtful. She recommended I get a "cavitation" surgery and have my composite fillings replaced by her dentist friend, Dr. Sperbeck. Thousands of dollars wasted. The surgery did nothing and Sperbeck's fillings actually damaged my teeth further, which I now have to get replaced, again. Turns out that jaw "cavitations" are a fantasy. They are NOT recognized as legitimate pathological issues by the larger medical and dental community. Shirley had me taking a boatload of supplements during my time with her, which, again, did nothing to change my health for the better. Thousands of dollars on supplements, wasted. After nearly two years of seeing Shirley, I realized I was being an idiot by continuing to seek her advice. The real 'a-ha' moment came after I switched to a whole-foods, plant based, vegan diet and felt the best I had in 10 years. The very first day I met Shirley, she told me to not go vegan for they were the 'sickest people she treated'. Shirley claims to be a nutritional expert yet she is advising people against a WFPB vegan diet, which is the most scientifically supported diet for health and longevity. Her methods are reckless, expensive, and dangerous. She is either delusional or deliberately duping chronically ill people. Seeking her help was one of the biggest (and most expensive) mistakes I've ever made. She scammed me out of a lot of money. If you have serious, chronic health issues, find help somewhere else.

I began seeing her for shoulder problems (labral tears) and she has been a tremendous help with that. I also had hip problems for years and she sorted those out in no time at all. Hip and sciatic pain is a thing of the past for me. On top of being an amazing chiropractor Dr Shirley is also a fantastic nutritionist and has been able to help me with several deficiencies and has helped me get my energy back up.
