We thought he was doing pretty well in the other school but after he transferred, we started seeing C's and D's instead of his previous B's. He was also seemingly unable to control his talking in the new environment, so we had him assessed and placed on a prescription and provided IEP support. Fast forward to 6th grade, and he is back on track with A's and B's and even getting recommendations to take honor classes next year in Middle School. I whole heartedly recommend this school. They have great teachers with high standards, amazing IEP staff to play catch up with students that need it, and their counselor Chastity is so wonderfully involved and truly cares about these kids with her whole heart. So thankful that we moved to Olivenhain in time to correct the course of our child!

He is challenged appropriately by the daily lessons, has a great time on the playground and loves the after school program. The teachers are excellent in terms of communicating with parents and managing the children in class. There is enough structure so that everybody learns, but not so much that the children can't explore and learn independently. The parents and PTA groups are also extremely active and help keep critical programs in place through fundraisers and volunteer work. Our son is a smart kid and my wife and I did a lot of research before settling on this elementary school. So far, we feel as though we've made the right decision.

There's been times that I've asked for clarification on something and she sounds frustrated that I even asked. If you don't like your job at this great district... DON'T WORK THERE! I had moved on from this situation. It has been five months since I put this behind me and I did…read morenot plan to comment further. However, today I received another email addressed to current and past families describing ongoing issues within the program. The concerns raised were similar to what I personally experienced during my time there. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable staying silent, especially because young children attend this school. Our interaction and resolution were not amicable whatsoever. I made sure to communicate in writing so that everything was documented. The issue of my refund did not end peacefully or professionally. After months of following up regarding money that was owed to me, the director stated that I was "harassing" and "bullying" her by requesting updates. I strongly disagree with that characterization. As a paying customer whose child was enrolled in the program, I believe I had every right to request updates on a refund and to ask questions about how the company was being run while my child was in their care. Following up on a financial matter over several months is not harassment, it is accountability. Because the refund was not resolved despite repeated requests, I ultimately had to pursue the matter in small claims court in order to recover what I was owed. I would not describe that outcome as amicable. Today's email stated that the school is again experiencing internal issues related to teachers and parent complaints... iissues very similar to those raised during the 2025 school year. Last year, when concerns were raised, responsibility was attributed to certain teachers. Those teachers are no longer employed by the school. However, similar concerns are being raised again this year with an entirely new group of teachers. As a parent observing this, that raises reasonable questions for me. If the original issues were solely tied to specific staff members, one might expect those concerns to resolve once those individuals were no longer part of the program. Instead, similar complaints appear to be continuing into a new school year with whole new staff. I am not speculating about motives. I am pointing out that the pattern of concerns has remained consistent despite a complete change in teaching staff. During my time there, when parents raised concerns, the responses often felt dismissive or minimized. Responsibility was frequently shifted elsewhere. That pattern was deeply concerning to me. One issue that continues to be referenced (including in the recent email)  is CDSS licensing. I want to state this carefully and factually: Based on written confirmation I received directly from CDSS, The Native School does not hold an active CDSS childcare license. Outdoor programs of this type may not be required to hold one because such licensing does not exist for outdoor schools yet.  That distinction matters because it affects what oversight applies and what formal complaint channels exist. My concern was not whether a license was required. My concern was that the messaging around oversight created an impression that did not align with what I later verified in writing with CDSS. Parents deserve clarity about regulatory oversight, especially when children are involved. I am sharing this because families deserve to make informed decisions. I am speaking only about my documented experience and information I verified through official sources. Our teachers were wonderful during our time there. My concerns are centered around administrative communication and transparency.

When I went to middle school, it was a big deal about whether you went to SDA or LCC. LCC was for…read more"jocks" and SDA was for "artsy" kids, and the evidence for this was the fact that LCC has a football team while SDA does not. But the truth is, both high schools are high schools and both have their ups and downs. Out of my friends, I was one of the few who went willingly to LCC. I graduated in 2007, so my knowledge may be a bit dated. LCC's best department, by far, is its English department. It's well worth it to take Honors/AP, because the teachers really put their all into their students and try to seriously prep them for college. Ms. Wanczuk taught us about spotting logical fallacies, and I can still remember a good enough amount to recognize them in debates held at my school. She also really hammered down the importance of writing, and I know that I did so well on the AP test because of her (well enough to have it substitute for a full class at my college, same with Monahan for senior year). Mrs. Lax and Ms. Monahan are two other fabulous English teachers, and I've heard good things about Cunningham, Sandknop, and others. LCC's graphic design, yearbook, etc. classes are also worth taking because the equipment is top notch. Students interested in doing theater should start freshman year because it does get very political. LCC football games were always a blast, even if you didn't watch the game. The school was getting more into pep rallies as I was leaving, but I definitely felt that it was perfectly okay to be an individual... I mean, to a degree. This is high school, and nothing will change the people. Language department was great because they had such variety! Japanese was wonderful and I was able to continue in college. It's a unique skill to have. Overall, a great school. Very beautiful campus, too.

I walk over to one of the showers in the corner to see two men making out. I throw up in my mouth and spit it out after closing the stall door. I go over to one of the sinks and wash out the room. I go over to the janitors closet and pull out bleach pouring it in my eyes and mouth. I walk back to one of the stalls and open the door. What stood behind that door roped the ungodly sin I had seen just before... A big pile of shit was scatter all around but mostly by the drain. It looked like someone tried shoving it down. I turned to leave. I walked to my locker excepting that I was not going to have a shower. I put on my pants leaving my shirt and began leaving when I saw one of the cheerleaders (they let boys and girls on the team) He was walking In to the locker and headed over to one of the many lockers. I stayed behind to watch him change. He pulled off his shirt I saw his pale frail body. I couldn't pull my eyes off his body. The way his hair laid just above his eyes. I felt myself drawn to him. I walked over to him. I was painful obviously towering over him. He looked at me before looking down at my chest. I grabbed his chin pulling his head up to we were face to face. You look so beautiful. I lend in for a kiss which he reciprocated we locked lips and only pulled away when we were out of breath. I pushed him against the locker and we were hard making out. We stopped after 10 minutes when the bell rang Signaling that school had ended. I invited him to lunch at the nearby habitat and we went. I ditched my girlfriend and broke up with her over text that night. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 months and love each other a lot.
