Reviews on other sites complain of "no A/C", but our room, on the 3rd floor, was fully air conditioned. (My one tip, though, would be to try for a room on the 2nd floor -- because there is no lift -- and after a day of walking around town, especially in the summer heat, that 2nd flight of stairs is brutal.) There is also free parking behind a locked gate, if you have a car. At first glance, the neighborhood seems a bit run-down and questionable, what with the double-gate security and all, but walk around the corner behind the hotel and you're in the Barrio de Brasil, a great neighborhood with families at play in the park, and a lively restaurant and bar scene. A block the other way are 2 great, quirky restaurants, Ocean Pacific and Los Vikingos (see my separate reviews of both). So, while you're not right downtown, you're a short walk away (or a short cab or Uber ride -- both are readily available), and there's no particular advantage in staying in Providencia or Bella Vista anyway, especially if you have a car. And if you're planning day trips to the wineries or ski areas or Valparaiso or Isla Negra (since there's not much to keep you in Santiago), you're a couple of blocks from the highway, which makes getting out of town much faster and less aggravating. In all, a good choice at a reasonable price. Recommended.

There's a 100 year old original elevator and a newer one as well. We came in winter so didn't really get to enjoy the rooftop area but I went up to look at it and it looked fun. The guest rooms have old wood floors and our bathroom had a stained glass door. The bed is super comfortable. The room is medium sized- not as small as some European hotels, but still small enough that we had to rearrange some things to lay out our large suitcases. The bathrooms have nice shampoo, conditioner and soap. The shower gets super hot! The only possible downside of this place is if you have a room facing the main street out front you will hear traffic and people on the streets at night. It wasn't too bad, but not totally peaceful. Just part of an urban hotel experience though!

It's not like your typical American airports where shuttles pass by and you wait on the curb. Instead they keep it a secret when you book your reservation that the pickup place is some random parking stall in the garage. So strange. So we get to the unmarked stall (C22) and we are waiting with like 10 other people. The van comes and the driver said he can only fit 6 people, and he has a list of people who made a reservation for the shuttle. How the heck are you supposed to know to sign up for a spot on the shuttle?? So we try to ask him if we can put our names on the list for the next shuttle and he just like waves us away and is kind of rude. He said he'll be back in 50 minutes... or 15... he never clarified even though we asked. He comes back in about 20 minutes and takes the rest of us to the hotel. It was definitely a wild ride to the hotel... The hotel isn't that far from the airport, but you can't walk... We finally get into our room and it's nice enough. The shower was hot and the water pressure was great. The AC was easy to turn on and we figured out the lights. I'd definitely give this place another try knowing that I need to make a reservation for the airport shuttle. And I know where to find it.

We were extremely tired from the long journey from Patagonia and yet they made us sit in the van for at least a good 20 mins, hoping to fill up the van before taking off. We tried asking them at one point how soon can they leave (we almost got off to take a cab instead) and they just gave us a hand signal (whatever that might mean). The room itself was tired and old....and so was the bathroom. Definitely not at Hilton standards. The next morning, the shuttle service was late and didnt even gesture us despite we were waiting out front....terrible service. Next time, I rather stay at the Holiday Inn, which is literally outside the airport, than to deal this. Not recommended!

The chairs are extremely slow and the on-mountain service is basically nonexistent. We stayed at hotel Puerto del Sol and it is fine. It is extremely overpriced for the quality of the rooms. The whole place is like being on a cruise the whole time . You have to wear a wristband while you're there and the food is mediocre at best. With all that being said... Would I go back? Yes! The Andies are beautiful and the skiing is great and that's why you're there.

Once arriving, the small resort area with wide terrain (no trees), was very enjoyable. During our few days stay, the highest we could get on the mountain was via Andes Express. This was around half way to the top looking at the map. The runs were well maintained and the mountain was easy to navigate. This resort is a great way to enjoy the Andes Mountains. Mastercard gets 25% discount on rentals, food, etc so come with this card. We dined at a couple restaurants and although didn't think the buffet was all that good, the restaurant with a more chill vibe, almost sports bar like had wonderful food and service. Not the best snow coverage to start our stay, but decent conditions. Ended with almost being snowed in.

The free airport shuttle works although not always on time - pick up on 3rd level gate #3 - helps to communicate with the front desk via WhatsApp (airport WiFi works near the gate) in case it's late. Checking in seems to be strictly 3 pm. King room is not bad, was told it's an upgrade, quite large with a couch and sitting area, very practical set up with plenty of surfaces to put stuff on. Wet bar with fridge and microwave is convenient. No hot water kettle however, just a keurig type coffee maker. Being a tea drinker it's useless, plus of course there's no tea just coffee pods. Overall it's clean and bed and pillows comfortable although sheets a bit thin and don't feel like cotton. Breakfast was ok with a few hot dishes, not the most tasty - eggs, veggies, potatoes, rice - variety of pastries but at peak time kept running out and not replenished. The biggest surprise was luggage storage which is not free - $10 per piece regardless of size or whether you are returning to stay at the hotel. Although a bargain compared to what the airport would charge (about $25 per piece). Wifi worked ok in room. We had lunch one time in the cafe as well which was adequate, Caesar salad was a bit in name only but it was fresh, pasta a bit overcooked and rather bland, however price quite reasonable.

City Express was just perfect for us, about 8 minutes by shuttle. PRO TIP the shuttle on Delfos is free. When you exit the baggage area look for door number 4, the Delfos desk is just to the right and they'll give you the free voucher to board their shuttle. Easy, once you know what you're doing :). We arrived super early around 10am and were pleased to find our room was ready. The room was basic, but well equipped with a hair dryer, iron, etc. We were waiting for our tour pick up so we opted to just eat lunch at the in hotel restaurant. The food was surprisingly good, and the place got quite busy around 1pm! They were happy to arrange the free shuttle to pick us up at 3am to head to the airport. Great stay!

We were tested, they gave us print outs with our negative results. Arrived at airport, tests were invalid and not accepted. After much chaos we arranged a drive by test at airport to board plane. Almost missed our flight. Contacted the hotel upon my return, candidly I thought I should get a full refund, give what transpired, at the very least the $130 refunded. They refused, saying they were not responsible. So unprofessional. this is not a 5 star hotel, maybe a 3. Rooms are very tired, bathroom sink in bedroom, no hot water in shower, shower seal broken so water everywhere.

They also have a mascot who roams the hotel, the fattest and friendliest dog in all of Santiago who is waiting to great you upon your arrival. The hostel is located within walking distance of lots of fun bars and clubs, and just a hop skip and a jump from Pio Nono. If you feel like staying the Hostel bar is also ideal for getting to know other travelers and enjoying yourself at your home away from home.
