I'm genuinely sad to write this review--I truly wanted to give this place another five stars. I…read morehope the cafe takes this feedback to heart because this area really needs a great restaurant and coffee shop, and this spot has so much potential. The location is beautiful--right on the water--with a cozy, inviting interior that makes you want to stay a while. I've been here before, and my first visit left a better impression. The coffee was great that time, and I was excited to return. Unfortunately, my second visit didn't live up to the first. We ordered three coffees: the Snickerdoodle, Honey Bee, and Bean Redeem. All of them were overwhelmingly milk-forward with very little actual coffee flavor. The Snickerdoodle, which was supposed to have cinnamon notes, tasted mostly like vanilla and caramel. The Honey Bee didn't taste quite right, and the Bean Redeem lacked the white chocolate and toffee flavors advertised--it just came across as more vanilla. As for the food, we tried a variety: the biscuits and gravy, Sunrise Supreme, the Classic, and the Reg. Sadly, nothing stood out. The Reg and Classic were okay but lacked seasoning or anything memorable. The biscuits and gravy reminded us of the older McDonald's version--definitely not homemade. The Sunrise Supreme came on mini biscuits that were dry, and the sandwiches overall were just average. A recurring issue we noticed was that a lot of the items seemed prepackaged. The baked goods in the case looked like they came from Sam's Club. If the coffee had been excellent, we could have overlooked that--but with both the drinks and food falling flat, it's hard to justify a return visit right now. That said, I really want to see this place thrive. There's a great opportunity here to make it special: seasonal menus, house-made syrups, stronger flavor profiles in the coffee, and maybe even partnerships with local roasters and bakers. Showcasing fresh, local ingredients and dialing in the coffee recipes could turn this into a true gem. I'll be keeping an eye on this spot and genuinely hope to update this review in the future with a better experience.

Yet another over the top delicious meal was had at Artman's. This time, I introduced my middle…read moresister to how delicious this restaurant is! I went all out to give her a true taste of their delicious offerings. 2 Moinks, an entire order of fried green tomatoes and fried banana peppers. The moinks lasted about 2 seconds with the both of us rolling our eyes heavenward while savoring each bite. My sister got the house salad with brisket and I got the pulled pork plate with cornbread and two sides (yes, thank you Jesus for those TWO sides!) which consisted of their corn casserole and broccoli rice casserole. Service was surprisingly fast. Refills, fast service, the nicest waitress on the planet too! Jennifer was her name. We remembered easily because my sister's name is also Jennifer! Everything was so good that my sister says she's bringing her husband to try them because what country boy doesn't like good home cooking and smoked meat? I'm taking most of the fried banana peppers and fried green tomatoes and surprising my husband with them. He'll either thank me or be jealous of where we went! If you haven't at least tried Artman's yet, you are doing yourself a huge injustice!!

They have limited table inside the building, but they also have tables outside the building. I first tasted their food when our friends invited us over to their house. They served brisket and smoked chicken. It was delicious. So, we decided to go there not long after we tasted the food from our friends' house. Our first experience at Artman's was great that we decided to return and bring some friends with us. The restaurant opened at 11:00am and we arrived a couple of minutes before they opened to make sure we were able to get a table. Understandably, the restaurant gets full very quickly because their food was that good. When the doors opened, our server told us to sit where we wanted. The restaurant was very clean inside which was the first thing I noticed. Even the bathroom was clean. I came craving ribs and that was exactly what I ordered. I ordered a half a slab of St. Louis ribs. The server, Melissa was great. She always made sure my glass of tea was always full. I found out that she had only been working there for a month. She had a lot of patience too because I changed my mind three times on the sides that came with my ribs. I originally ordered French fries and collard greens. Then, I changed it to collard greens and Mac & cheese. Then, I changed it again to collard greens and broccoli and rice casserole. Ordering the ribs was not a mistake. They serve the ribs the way I like it, no bbq sauce and they had 3 bottles of bbq sauce at each table for you to put on your ribs. They also had the vinegar and pepper for the greens. The ribs were delicious and cooked perfectly. I did not use any bbq sauce. I thought the ribs were perfect just the way they were. As I said, Artman's is at Summerfield jewel. Go and try it. You won't regret it. However, I do suggest getting there early so that you don't have a long wait.
