El Apapacho - Place and the owner are amazing

The owner kindly let me know they weren't open yet, and noticing my struggling Spanish, switched to English with a smile. He was incredibly friendly -- he invited me to sit down, offered me some water, and even brewed an espresso free of charge. He also shared great recommendations for local restaurants and even a nearby winery that I can't wait to visit. Today's my first day in Querétaro, and I already know I'll be coming back. It's amazing how a simple act of kindness can make your entire experience unforgettable.

Seldom can places manage to be cool and have an awesome product and have both of these intermingle harmoniously, which is exactly what puts them on top of the game. A few rules describing the coffee shop are written next to the entrance of the shop, such as the coffee menu situation and the four-legged owner who roams around the bar, greeting visitors with its furry paws. Though the place is small, the candid approach by the baristas make you feel right at home, cozy and tight. The coffee is roasted in house in very small batches, following a medium roast profile, a very welcome sight in the coffee scene. Espresso is pulled with expertise, allowing the acidity and sweetness to shine through. Manuel and pour over methods are also offered with their own special twist. While the coffee is reason enough to come here, and the pastries and food add to the experience, in Apapacho it's all about the community. With their own herb garden, their tip system that goes to fund their bike program, and their communal skateboard, this shop truly intends to serve their community while making great coffee. This place does its name justice, as you are pampered by both the people and the coffee.

I went to this amazing spot in Patzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico. It's a fairytale town. If you love…read moretraveling this is definitely a beautiful place to explore. Anywho we stopped at Don Jenaro's for some chocolate and bread. They actually had a bread made out of corn that paired so deliciously with the chocolate. The spot is so cute in the inside it has a few places to sit and it's beautifully decorated with local artisan pieces. There is various types of hot chocolate you can enjoy. I love their semi-sweet. My mom just brought some back from there that's how I remembered to write this. The people were so hospitable. The fact that they had a gluten free bread cake for me to enjoy alongside the chocolate was the best. When I bit into the soft, creamy corn bread cake it made my heart burst of happiness. I could not tell it was any other kind of bread. Highly recommend. Do your research on this place because there's quite a bit of tourist spots around. For example, Janitzio, which is a island within this town that's indigenous and they really know how to celebrate the day of the dead. Enjoy!
