The complimentary olives blew us away right from the get go. Make sure you ask for refills. They are very gracious about that. We have the braised pork shoulder, the squab and the fish main. Each dish was beautifully presented and taste marvelous. Regrets that due to their rather generous portions, we were too full to ordered desserts. The staffs were super friendly and pleasant. This is a must go place if you are in the area. The restaurant is a restored old barn with many of the Middle Ages rafters still visible on the ceiling. Very charming indeed.

My husband and I recently took a honeymoon trip to Spain and spent a night in Rueda. We love…read moreverdejo wines and wanted to see where they came from. This particular bodega has a small (four room) hotel in it and we stayed there for the night while exploring the city. On the night in question, we were the only people staying at the hotel so they gave us a key to our room as well as to the door (it is not staffed at night) and we basically had free reign. Our room was very comfortable. Our full size bed was actually two twin beds pushed together, but that wasn't a big deal. The bathroom was stocked with soft, full size towels and had a rather technologically advanced shower. We also had access to the upstairs lounge with lots of comfortable couches, a large TV, and a full kitchen. The fridge was stocked with water and food and there was a separate wine fridge with all the Felix Sanz wine we could drink (which was one and a half bottles). The next morning, a lady came by to cook us a large, delicious breakfast before we departed for San Sebastian. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to tour the winery. I think it would have been pretty awesome. If you're interested in verdejo wine and looking to stay in the city of Rueda, this is probably your best bet (super luxurious for 70 euros a night!)

Located in the middle of the vineyard Pago de Carraovejas. The view is extraordinary, the dining area contemporary stylish, the food to die for, and wines to satisfy your soul. We had a 7 course degustation lunch accompanied by wines and it was nothing short of remarkable. Beef with roasted potatoes, simple yet so good. Stuffed fingerling potatoes, buck wheat risotto with cured fish, tuna with mussels in tomato sauce (that dish mentally knocked me to the floor!), chocolate dessert with strawberry coulis, and the finishing wooden plank with a whole assortments of sweets left me flabbergasted. The wines as well were completely magical, perfectly paired with every dish. This is food and wine at its very best and going back would be the easiest choice ever. But then I'd sit down for dinner!
