First time here. Fun atmosphere, I like the design. We had potato tacos and nachos. They were good. The service was just order and sit down. I don't live local to here so not sure I'll be back due to that.

A new restaurant in Yuba city had me captivated by the bright and beautiful decor as I walked in. You can't find this too often in our area. The menu is impressive with many options of your favorite Mexican cuisine, including seafood and unique dishes. They include chips, salsa and a condiment bar. My son ordered the hot Cheetos burritos , while I had the taquitos plate. We ordered it to go. I believe if the restaurant can make good beans and rice the food will be great. The food was great! Authentic Mexican food with hip dining is comparable to a Mexican restaurant you'd find in Sacramento or the Roseville area. I'm happy to welcome it to our area.

We loved the flower lamps! So pretty

My food was good. Just very very busy while we waited for our meal. The artwork was Beautiful and all the tables had the same artwork at each table.

Catrina is the newest restaurant in Yuba city. I tried to come here on a Friday night at 8pm and they were closing up due to being busy all day and out of items. Which was a disappointment as the hours said till 10pm but understandable with being busy all day. I came back the following Monday and they indeed were packed. Inside is brightly painted and decorated with beautiful murals and flower lamps! They have a cute selfie spot for the vibes. How the process works is you order at the register help yourself to the chips and salsa and a staff member brings out your food to your table. For being busy even on a Monday night the wait for the order was not bad at all. The food: The Catrina wet burrito had half chili verde and half mole sauce on top. The burrito was generously stuffed with chicken rice and beans. There was a fresh lettuce cabbage mix on tip drizzled with sour cream. The two sauces have a perfect bend of sour yet creamy taste and the burrito was hot and fresh! It was very good! The Catrina platter was the star of the dinner for sure! This is a huge plate with portions of rice beans small mixed veggies, your choice of meat or seafood a quesadilla and tortillas on the side! This plate is huge and can definitely be shared! I had the shrimp and steak. The shrimp was tangy and the steak was flavorful. The total for two people was around $50. For a new restaurant they were quick and efficient. The food was great and the service was excellent as well. Be a little patient with this place as they are brand new and as they figure out their footing in this new adventure! Best of luck to the staff!

I met the owner JUAN and he said they have been in business for 58 years! I certainly can see why! I ordered the 2 beef enchiladas with rice and beans. It also came with soup and warm fresh tortillas. Complimentary chips and salsa. Both the ground beef and shredded beef enchiladas were tasty! I tried a few bites of everything and it was delicious! The chicken soup was flavorful with corn. The red salsa was mild but the green salsa was awesome because it was spicy and tasty! YUM! They have a full bar and special margaritas. I had a nice chilled chardonnay with lunch. They also have a lady near the front making fresh tortillas. It was a really great experience with quick service and friendly employees ! Thank you Juan and Megan for superior service. I will be back! Btw...I was able to watch Argentina play while I was eating. BONUS!

The perfect plate that a friend ordered had a little bit of everything, even a salad that wasn't pictured. I always enjoy the taquitos when I come here. Good Mexican food and not to forget the homemade tortillas.

This place is a hidden gem, the location isn't the best however the food is outstanding …read more The aguachile trio was absolutely delicious! It is a little on the pricey side, but the portion, freshness, and flavor made it worth it. I normally always go for the traditional green aguachile, but surprisingly the red sauce ended up being my favorite! It definitely has some serious heat, so be prepared if you're sensitive to spice. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and everything tasted super fresh. The owner was also our server and was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. Great food and great service -- this place has become a go- to for me !

Visited August 21 2026. See my receipt…read more I finally made it here and am so glad I did! It is located in Yuba City ( a few doors down from Surf Thru). It is very clean inside with plenty of seating. I ordered the 2 item combo which was carne asada enchilada and a chicken tamale. It came with rice and beans. I had them split the tamale with half red and half green sauce. Very delicious! Chicken was moist and tender. The enchilada was good too with alot of flavor! I liked that they had complimentary chips and different salsas. I like it spicy! They also have beer and sodas available. I am obsessed with molcahete dishes ( served in an urn type bowl) but they are hard to travel with because they are very hot! Love their menu! The owner...ROSA.. was very warm and friendly! In fact all the employees were very kind! Btw...They roast their jalepenos and only use the freshest tomatoes! It was a Great experience and I will DEFINITELY be back! Ps..they were voted number 1 in 2025..see my picture!

The prices are awesome. $5 for a torta or a burrito large enough to share or if you are feeling selfish save later for your self . Tacos are to die for!!! Seafood dishes are awesome as well. Is there anything on their menu I haven't tried? I think not! There are times I have eaten here 2-3 times a week lol. Oh FYI the chips and salsa are bomb!! Would recommend!!!!

El Jalisciense Review…read more We decided to give El Jalisciense a try, and we're so glad we did! We ordered the tripa and al pastor tacos, an asada burrito, botana a la cora, and a pineapple agua fresca. The shrimp in the botana were big and flavorful, although the dish was a little salty for our taste. The tacos were actually really good--full of flavor and well-seasoned. We were also surprised by how big the burrito was for the price; definitely a great value! The pineapple agua fresca was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, which we really appreciated. We also loved the large cups of water, a small detail that makes a difference! The customer service was very friendly and attentive, and we're definitely looking forward to coming back to try more items from the menu. Overall, this is a great Mexican restaurant! The only thing keeping it from a 5/5 for us would be a salsa bar--having different salsas to choose from would make the experience even better!
