La Casita is my favorite restaurant in the universe. My desebrada con todo tastes just like it did 30 years ago. I have never found another green sauce that even compares to Vicki's. Everything is made from scratch so be patient and it will be worth the wait. The food is made with love and it shows on every plate. Vicki is a very smart businesses lady. La Castia is very busy for breakfast. Then a slow time just before the lunch. The food is very very good & The employees alwat ys has a cheerful smile. May not speak our English very well. Ms. Vicki knows her customers.For real Mexican Food this price is very well paid. The only problem I have is with the Queso & chips is the Queso is everywhere by the time you get it home / work. "What a Mess!" Food was good but such a rip off. We ordered the flat grilled chicken ($13.95) , the burrito plate ($15.50) and 1 mexican coke which costs about $2.60. We got billed for $42. It turns out they charged us for the chips and salsa which we never ordered. Originally we thought it was a complimentary. This is the most expensive mexican restaurant i have ever been to! It is more pricey compared to fancy restaurants of the same kind in big cities. Also no receipt was offered or no option to have one either. read more

We decided to go off the beaten path for some highly rated Mexican food. First thing, I have eaten a lot of Mexican food all over Texas and this is the most expensive Mexican restaurant, that was not intended to be fancy, that I have ever been to. Chips were cheap store bought chips (I saw the bags), the queso was fine and their green salsa was super hot, but flavorful. Service was acceptable. The burrito my son got was OK. My al pastor was decent. My wife's chicken salad made her uncomfortable shortly after eating. Not worth the money to get off the beaten path for this one. read more

How is it possible that no one back home has rated this?! Well, I know how it is possible, but still... Anyway, as is par for the course, I can't/don't rate anything unless I have recently eaten there. So I won't rate even places I have eaten hundreds of times before, no matter how bad I want to. That said, I haven't been back home in 3 years, but I happen to have a wonderful sister that packed up some La Casita food for me and brought it all the way to Mississippi. After nearly 900 miles, subzero temps, and reheating, it was still marvelous. Everything they make, or at least everything I have had, is delicious. My mouth is watering right now thinking about a fajita burrito and a container of "green sauce" to spike it with. Next time I am home, this will be my first stop for food! read more
