The owner immediately struck up conversation and started us on a tasting spree of his delicious limoncello varieties! Between 'shots' of his homemade limoncello, we sampled some of his fresh jams & preserves as well. So tasty! He was SOO friendly and gave us so many great recommendations, we definitely did not walk out empty-handed! So whilst in town, you must make sure you stop by this adorable little shop that's filled with so many Italian treats! I promise, you won't regret it! :)

Our main purchase was of a local dessert wine Sciacchetra. Unfortunately we didn't quite get this right. It seemed like from his advice the more mass produced types were cheaper, as you might expect. We went for something in the middle, which we enjoyed.....but then the next day we tried the cheaper one somewhere else and our unrefined palettes actually preferred it!

Unless you like carrying bricks up so many flights. Building 49 has many flights of stairs as well, but leads you up to the roof overlooking the ocean. Unobstructed! There are several rooftop locations you can go to. I encountered some Sunday there's who genuinely hate bathing suit's LOL :-) you get a 10% off coupon for the restaurant where you check in, but the restaurant isn't very big so seats are limited, be mindful of the time when you are hungry. There is air-conditioning, TV, no refrigerator, but who wants to carry food around when you can just find from the multiple restaurants and vendors along the Piazza. If you have hiked hear from any of the other locations on the trail my sincere kudos. It is quite a journey. Make sure you check the news or with the local tourist agency, or the hotel to see if there are any mud slides that may alter your path. There's nothing like looking out your window, hearing the church bells, the ocean, and the people below. It was our last day and we knew we wanted to visit for the famous Sciacchetra. We got a little meat and cheese platter that came with some bread and jam. Simple but so good! The star was definitely the Sciacchetra- which is a special dessert wine from this region. We ended up taking a bottle home from this as a souvenir! It's usually served with a little biscotti- like cookie. I've looked for this wine in the U.S. and it's hard to find! I definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area.
