C'est bon!
My wife's…read moreparents took us and her brother here for dinner. My wife is from Perpignan, but we live in Long Beach, California. She is always talking about proper Cous Cous, something that we just can't find (so far) in Los Angeles. So she wanted to go to Le Casablanca...
I have to say, it was excellent. I'm going off of memory as I don't have a menu, but I believe I got the "Casa" Cous Cous??? It was an assortment of sausage, meatball, and beef kabob. It was so good! And they kindly brought a bowl of extra Harissa sauce for me, as I love the hot spice. I ate until I was overly full.
I also want to note the sweet Moroccan hospitality. When we arrived, the greeting from whom I presume was the patriarch was warm and friendly, the service was fast. But even better, when my wife mentioned to one of the staff (a young woman, I'm guessing part of the family who owns Casablanca?) that we can't find the spice to make proper Cous Cous here in Long Beach, she went to the kitchen and prepared a large plastic container filled with a mix of the spices! Thankfully, it survived the trip back to the states. Honestly, that was super kind and unexpected, but my wife said "ah, this is the hospitality of the Moroccans."
We'll definitely visit again next time we're in Perpignan!
