This beautiful butcher shop is located right outside the popular Mercado 23 in the downtown part of…read moreCancun. I was drawn to it because it looked like an upscale butcher shop I'd find in NYC.
It's neatly decorated with butcher block made of tree trunks, which was very cool. They sell sauces to go with the incredible meats they sell. And the meats were incredible: the largest tomahawk steaks I've ever seen; aged New York strip, black angus ribeyes, bone marrow and more. (All the prices in the photos are in Mexican pesos)
If I lived here, this place would be on the top of my shopping list. The prices are really good. For example, the most expensive item is the Angus rib eye steak, which costs $9.60 per pound (US).
If you get here after noon, they have a little grill outside where they'll prepare your purchase for you (I was here too early for that).
The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I didn't have the chance to try their meat (my hotel wouldn't allow me to have a barbecue in the room for some reason).
