If you are a fan of great North african food, RUN don't walk to La Boule Rouge.
our Parisian friends took us there after they raved about it for days!! First of all, it is very easy to find, just one block from the Folies Bergere theater. Second,if you're driving , you can get valet parking if you want it ( 10 euros) - third the BEST WAITER IN THE WORLD was Fauzey, ask for him- he knew what I was thinking before I knew what I was thinking- and, most of all, the food was fabulous. We were met at the table by an array of appetizers -salads,beans,bulgur with harissa sauce, etc. But that was just the beginning. I had the lamb in the pot with loads of tomato sauce- piled it on top of my couscous. Just when I was ready to burst, Fauzey brought me a dessert -on the house- a ravishing white semolina like cake in syrup. He also brought us a pot of mint tea. If you are coming on a Saturday night I suggest reservations. come early ,like 8 pm.We seemed to be the only tourists in the place, most of the clientele was a mix of sophisticates, yuppies,French families and Muslim families- good mix. The atmosphere was not stuffy parisien at all ,people seemed to be able to speak ,laugh, easily. .

If you go- tell Fauzy/Raymond that Rachelle, Joyce's Americaine friend sent you. read more
