One of the most fun places we went to in Prague. If you've ever visited La Bodeguita del Medio in Cuba, it's such a treat to walk into this one, and see how wonderfully they stuck to the brand. The food was great, but the service was a tad slow. Downstairs, it was a totally different feel. It was so packed you could barely walk, but everyone was dancing, and having a wonderful time. Most of the staff, and the DJ when we went were actually Cuban, so it makes for a very authentic Cuban experience. I had such a great time, that I didn't want to leave! Bathroom was difficult, just because there were so many people that there was a little wait, but it was clean. I would definitely recommend visiting here if you like Cuban food, and Spanish music. For a moment, we forgot that we were in Prague, and were transported to Cuba for a few hours!

If you are one of those people who are fond of music, dancing, great food, fantastic service and totally a kickass Mohito cocktails menu- then La Bodiguita Del Medio is a place for you. You can listen to great Latin music, listen to live singing, see a live-performance of talented Latin and African dancers in colorful and shiny outfits. Great food (both seafood and meat) has the best quality! I would totally recommend everyone to get a reservation (from Thursday to Saturday it's extremely crowded at nights). Get on this ride to happy and smily land of hot Latinos chicos and chicas ;)

La Bodeguita Del Medio is a fairly highly rated Cuban restaurant in Prague according to Tirp Advisor. We were in the neighborhood, so decided to check it out. The restaurant feels very cramped and "busy" as there are decorations and graffiti adorning every square inch of the walls. The restaurant is also a club, cigar bar, and who knows what else. The Daily Special, which came highly recommended, was a long platter with four small compartments. In one compartment was an arugula salad, with a nice citrus dressing. Two compartments contained calamari and baby octopus. The seafood was tender, but would have added another layer of flavor if it had been grilled. The final compartment contained squid ink risotto, which just tasted like black rice. There was no hint of butter, cheese, or the slight "fishiness" associated with squid ink. The Beef Tenderloin was seasoned with salt, rosemary and garlic, and came with a salsa verde, which was not all that hot. The steak was cooked to a nice medium, and had a nice char. The steak was lacking any real beefy flavor though. The potatoes were nice and tender, and had a slightly creamy texture. The Roasted Banana with Pineapple, was flambéed with Cuban rum, caramel, green pepper and came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The bananas were nice cooked with the skin on, were nicely soft and had a nice crunchy, sugar topping. The caramel sauce had a nice kick of rum, while the green pepper corns added a nice kick. The food was decent, except for the special. The restaurant is very loud, noisy and busy. Service was rather lackluster even though the restaurant was fairly quiet as we went at an off time. Based on this visit, I don't think La Bodeguita Del Medio lived up to the hype.

Awesome! Energetic! Fun-filled, and yet has every drop of bar feel. Open late, so it is ideal to catch a theatre, or dine and walk around, then hang out for grrrrreat music, performances, entertainment, or just people watch. Must hop in, and enjoy for an hour or more! Experience Havana in Prague. Just stop by, you'll know what I am saying.

This place is awesome! Even if you're a tourist like I was, you have to come here for the experience. It's a 2 minute walk from Old Town Square and it's a great change from most known places to eat. Living in Miami, you get to know Cuban food and I'll tell you, from the moment you walk in, until you walk out, it grasps you. One of two Cuban (yes imported from Cuba) owners greet you at the door and if you speak any Spanish, they'll treat you like family. The atmosphere is very warm and there are a lot of different places to sit for your mood. Although I didn't try it out, they have a really nice cigar room if you're a cigar aficionado craving an authentic Cuban cigar. I had the Arroz Cubano and it was probably the best dish I've had this year. Every bite was incredible but I recommend splitting among at least two people, it's a lot of food. They have a downstairs bar and DJ that plays just about everything from bachata, salsa, merengue, cumbia, to latin pop. Like I said, if you're in Prague, you have to go here. Best place I ate while I was there.

I have been here three times and the atmosphere is lovely with live band playing. You have to check the schedule. The sound system quite is poor. The drinks Mojitos are just because It lacks a bit of the rum tasted even the mint. The food lacks in flavor, perhaps because they are trying to please most tastes. I think they should stick to the authenticity and be true to the Cuban dishes. I still will come back and still recommended as one of the few liveliest places.

This place is completely fun and relaxing -- nice picnic style booths outside; great menu; pleasant service. After a full morning of walking the city on a private tour, we were famished, and just wanted to relax. This fit the bill for us. (we cannot speak to the interior or anything else -- we were only outside). I ordered a Cuba Libre (when in Rome?) and it was made with Pepsi! I didn't learn until later why the Soviet Bloc countries only have Pepsi . . . such an interesting experience! We split the calamari with olives and onions -- it was spectacular and full of grilled flavor. I had the avocado salad with shrimp -- it was packed with fresh toppings and tasted great. It's a little different than going for traditional fare when traveling, but had been recommended by our local friend and we really enjoyed it. read more

I have been going to this place for 20 years. The people have been friendly and the food and atmosphere have been great. Tonight was a disaster. I came to the restaurant and ordered a black russian as i have for 20 years to a cuban bar tender. I speak spanish so i spoke to him in spanish. He immediately became aggressive with me saying that it was not on the menu and that i should look on the menu. I told him i had been ordering that drink in the bar for 20 years and that i knew that they could make it. He did not care.... he told me that times change and it was no longer an option in the rudest and most aggressive way possible. I asked his collegue if he could serve me a shot of vodka and a shot of kahlua (which is a black russian). The cuban waiter went crazy. My son was with me and he speaks spanish, english and czech... so we understood all the languages being used. The security guy who is cuban and that i have known for years came and took the cuban waiters side after asking a czech waiter if i had been aggressive... i asked the Czech waiter if he understood any spanish and he said no... to what i said then, how do you know i was rude? He gave no answer.... except to say ' he is my friend and the nephew of thw owner'. The cuban waiter (nephew of the owner) kept bwing wvwn more aggressive. He was out of control and encouraged by the other cubans that worked there whom i assume were afraid of the owners nephew or were related to him. The cEch manager was normal but he seemed to not be able to give any reason logic or control yo the others.... the place is great except when nepotism destroys it. When a nephew tuens a great place to a mess because he feel the power. What a shame! read more

Gives an impression of a decent place with an apparent good choice of alcohol and cigars. The place is in the center and has a good decor, you can smoke in the bar, the only problem is that they sold me a FAKE Montecristo cigar for 400 c/ 17 euros. I am dissapointed. Did not expect it. read more

Its great id you are drunk, you don't want to go anywhere else and you are drunk. Bartenders are not flexible and they think they rule the world. If you are not well dressed they just ignore you and they don't read ques. Horrible place!!! Skip if you are sober. Manhattan was totally gross! read more

We didn't try the food here but went on a Friday night for a drink as somebody told us it was one of the best Mojito place in Prague. Well I don't know if it's the best but indeed the Mojitos are excellent served by crazy-pro-server-bottles-launcher! read more

This restaurant is overpriced and deceiving. The staff are slow, incompetent and extremely rude. The first drink as for was the Europa party mojito (the Europe mojito have flavors). Instead, we received a bucket of ice with barley any mojito and the waiter brought the wrong drink (not that there was anything in the bucket though) read more

I was excited to see they had a Bodeguita Del Medio waking down the street in Prague. we sat at the bar and ordered an espresso and both the waiters were ver rude. A blond one, who didn't speak any English or Spanish, prepared the coffee did it with a bad attitude, and his body language was negative. His facial expressions gave him away. The other was Asian although he was more positive and smoothed things out, the service wasn't good. On the other hand, the espresso was good. read more

Pretty decent place. Lots of action and loud music happening. Food was good, drinks could have been better, but were not bad. Atmosphere was very busy and -almost- bordered on the edge of cheesy. Lots of half-drunken cougars looking at salsa, if thats your jam. read more

Absolutely delicious Cubano food in the heart of Praha! So glad we found this little gem, but like most restaurants and bars in Praha, they haven't caught on to the ban on smoking in restaurants. LBdM loses a star until this law goes into effect, and I pray it is soon. In the meantime, just go outside or attempt to seat yourself away from smokers. Despite this, I'd go back and plan to the next time I'm in Prague. read more

Amazing restaurant just off Old Town Square. It has a real atmosphere of Cuba with live music and dancers, but nothing posh, it really lives. Great for cocktails but also for a dinner as the food is just amazing. Not cheap, prices are comparable to London, but you wont regret. Absolute bliss. And perfect location. read more

Even if you are desperate for some Cuban food, don't come here. My family and I travelled all the way across town to get some good Cuban food and we were sadly let down. The food from KFC was so much better than from this place. There were four of us and we ordered two seemingly big platters to share for each pair of us. Now mind that I said 'seemingly', because the menu made it sound like it was so and when we asked the waitress, she even said that it would be a good size. We waited for about fifteen years for our food to come while being charged for refills because all we had was our drinks. Then, when we get the food, it is a huge plate with a whole bunch white space! The foods were separated in little handles of each that seemed like they were store-bought and previously frozen. There was barely any food on the plate and it was all spread out and cold. It was ridiculous, we thought it was joke it was so bad. It was mediocre, cold, and a complete waste of forty dollars (+drinks!) on that trash. We were scammed and basically just handed them about seventy bucks for some trash. I would not go here if you like food that isn't mediocre and aren't into being scammed. read more

A hudba v rytmu Kuby uz jen dolaďuje pojetí celého baru. read more
