Love love love Los Diamantes! We ate here twice for the 2 days we were in Granada, and it was the…read moreonly restaurant we repeated on our 3 week trip in Portugal and Spain. Most of the menu focuses on seafood, but they have limited vegetarian and meat dishes as well. I would actually highly recommend the mushrooms here... you won't regret it!! First time we came was on a busy Saturday night around 8:30. The tables (which resemble long picnic tables) were full, but we saw two spots open at the bar, so we decided to eat there. Note that they only have 2 bar stools and everyone else has to stand at the bar. I got a tinto verano (2.80€) for my drink and my friend went with a cana i.e. a small beer (2.80€). The best thing about Los Diamantes is that you get some complimentary snacks to munch on with your drink order. The first time we came, the first free snack we got was these super delicious and lightly fried fish. Portion size was pretty large too, considering they're free. I also got a half order of navajas, i.e. razor clams, for 13€. I've never had razor clams before but the ones here are bomb. They're grilled with olive oil and plenty of garlic, but the natural flavor and slight crunch of the clams really come through. My friend got a second beer and got the most amazing grilled mushrooms for his free snack. We were honestly both obsessed with these mushrooms. That's why we came again the next day for an early dinner around 5 pm. This time, we specifically ordered a plate of the mushrooms for 12€ as well as the Galician style octopus (15€). The mushroom was again SO GOOD. Would highly recommend everyone get this to have some veggies in between all the seafood. Of course we got some drinks as well, so we got a complimentary snack again. This time it was some fried breaded shrimp.

Gets busy and doesn't take reservations. We got a fried white fish as a pintxos with our drinks. It…read morewas good and the fish inside was very tender. The salty fried food complements alcohol or probably a cold beer well. The servers were also friendly and chatting us up though they didn't speak much English.

Without a doubt, this was the best meal we had in Spain. The interior is modern and elegant but…read morenot pretentious; you're still in a beach town with t-shirt wearing tourists. Service was attentive and friendly. We didn't have a reservation and got lucky with the last open table for two...so make a reservation! But if you eat later, say after 9:00pm, you should be able get a table. Everything on menu looked fantastic; it was difficult deciding what to order: -FREE: Amuse-bouche...Spanish sushi! Had a unique sauce to it...lovely! -Grilled fresh asparagus in charcoal and shavings of Manchego cheese with basil oil...the amazing sauce made this the best asparagus I've ever had. -Grilled Turbot loin with orange, seafood and almonds cream..another incredible sauce! It went well with the fish, shrimp, clams and scallops. -Mediterranean Sole grilled in charcoal with black garlic alioli...no special sauce, but still delicious and cooked perfectly.. Wife was happy. -Sopa de chocolate blanco...for dessert, a green fluffy cake resting in warm melted white chocolate...creative and fabulous! -Wine...can't remember exactly, but we got a nice bottle for under €20. I don't remember the exact prices, but according to my credit card statement the entire meal was €72, which is great value considering this was nearly fine dining. Not sure if I'll ever visit Nerja again, but if I do I'm definitely dining here again. TRAVEL TIP: Don't mix this up with "Restaurante Pacomari"...I think its the same owner's casual and traditional restaurant but the food and service aren't nearly as good.

They have a complimentary appetizer that was steak tartare over a potato that was outstanding. The best thing on the menu was the cod...photo attached.
