Very quirky place, and a must-visit for beer lovers who pass through Rome from March to November (no indoor seating).
Staff has no sense of time, and no social skills whatsoever. Your hamburger might be ready in ten minutes and your beer could take twenty. All the while, you will feel like you are imposing on them and should come back later.
It's not easy to find, inhabiting a tiny kiosk which either in or near Piazza Mancini, depending how you define a piazza which has a bus station, car park and various undefined and profoundly neglected spaces scattered about.
This little gem is serious about two things: beer and food. The menu for both is short and succinct, circumnavigating mediocrity and getting right to the point.
Put La Birretta on your Rome Itinerary. It's walking distance from the heavily touristed historic center of Rome, and if you don't feel like walking Piazza Mancini is heavily served by city buses and ground-level light rail cars. read more
