The owners/servers seem to turn people away who do not fit their look, even if it means keeping the restaurant empty (Asian-American female solo traveler), which is an utterly racist and judgmental way of doing business. It was not about fancy dress or casual dress, as those few who were eating inside were dressed casually. The server took a glance at me, and said it was "not possible, all reserved." Based on other reviews (on Google, I did not check Yelp before writing my review), I don't think I am the only one to have experienced this utter lack of service.
I was told that the restaurant was booked up despite it being almost empty and having only a 2.9/5.0 rating on Google (I only went because the restaurant I originally wanted to go to was actually full and had an hour long wait).
This is the first instance of snobbery I have encountered in France - other places I have gone have all been welcoming and natural, whether in tourist areas or in less frequented areas, and whether I attempted French or spoke in English.
Don't support this place. If they treat you well, it is only because you happen to fit in their box of who is a worthy customer. I hope those reading this review feel as I do, that a business run by racists, who will outright lie to customers, deserves no business. I have no patience for businesses that are rude without cause. There are far better restaurants in Annecy. read more
