We've been here twice now on our three day stay in Mérida. They have a good local beer selection and a good German beer selection. Menu consists of German food offerings. Service is great and the air conditioning is cold. Great Happy Hour with local macro brew specials of $19 pesos (like a dollar) Only con is that they are out of a lot of beer and food on the menu (understandable because the supply chain was disrupted during the pandemic) They should print up a temporary one until they get things back in stock. All in all we liked it, it was a great place to escape the summer heat and grab a cold beer. read more

Yikes, what a great surprise! Initially was not impressed with their menu ( no sauerbraten) or their lack of service, but I definitely underestimated it. I can't wait to return! We had the wiener schnitzel,which was a huge and delicious meal, served with the amazing German potato salad. And, the roast chicken was served in a light broth with a variety of baked veggies. I can't speak for the food, but the place convinces you that you're in Germany. It has a very authentic vibe to it. The service is on-point and they have several German beers on the menu, but don't expect all of them to be in stock. I had to settle for my third choice. Oh, and also don't expect to pay Mexican prices for said German beers. You're well into the $6-7 USD range (approximately $120 MXN plus). They have a few TVs and I caught a live band on a Sunday night that played for about an hour and a half. read more

Wanted to try something different so we decided to try German food. Opted to eat in the air conditioned dining room. They have a very extensive beer list from Europe and five to six Mexican beers. I opted for a Mexican beer and my wife ordered red wine. Prices were about in line with local places. I ordered the bratwurst platter with mashed potatoes and ordered a side of sauerkraut. My wife ordered the jagerschnitzel with mashed potatoes. My bratwurst was ok, about like any sausage from here. The sauerkraut was good, a little sweeter than I am used to, and great mashed potatoes that were creamy and had lumps. My wife loved the schnitzel with its mushroom gravy. She also loved the potatoes. Service was great and prices ok for Centro. We will be back. read more

Swung by for a beer at lunch time. Typical Merida building but filled with German bier paraphernalia Bar looks like it has been around a while - which is cool. Order some fries and two beers. Like other have mentioned they don't have all of the beers available in the menu. Since we have german beer places at home I opted for a local Mayan IPA and my wife a lighter german beer, the server brought out three different bottles and explained each one to my wife so she could select from. This was pretty funny. Towards the end of our 8-day vacation in Mérida, we decided to change it up a bit after a week's worth of strictly Mexican food. So a quick search on Yelp pulled up this place, which was close to our hotel. So we decided to give it a shot, based on the good reviews and our enjoyment of German food. After a friendly greeting, we decided to sit in the bar area since the AC did not seem to be working effectively enough in the back dining areas. Looking at the beer selection, I decided a nice cold Weissbier might hit the spot. So when the waitress returned, I pointed to one from the list. She apologetically replied that they did not have any of the beers in the category. Disappointedly I started looking for alternatives, and then spotted an Erlinger Weissbier in the separate "Trigo" (wheat) section (?), which they had. After receiving our drinks, we made our food selections -- my wife ordering the goulash soup, and me ordering the Jaegerschitzel, or so I thought... Waitress: "Sorry, we don't have that" Me: "Seriously? What about the wiener schnitzel?" Waitress: "Sorry, no." Me: "Sauerbraten?" Waitress: "No" Me: "Ok, what do you have?" The waitress points to a couple of sausage dishes. So I order one in defeat. In the middle of our drinks while waiting for the food order to arrive, the power goes off. There are no lights up and down the street for several blocks. The staff diligently and clumsily gets some candles lit, and I am thinking to myself, "I should have seen this coming after the Weissbier silliness. We'll finish these drinks and get out of here before this gets any worse." Then to my surprise, our food is brought to us, in the dark, and we are then stuck, eating what we can hardly see in the dark. My wife's goulash was just ok, nothing delicious or authentic. My wursts were (I will resist the obvious pun) not great either, seemingly reheated and lacking moisture, and the only other thing on the plate was a mound of mashed potatoes, which were ok. I hate giving this review because we loved Mérida and its people. But this was a poor dining experience, although funny enough (including the Mexican staff wearing traditional German lederhosen). read more

I drink enough German beers at home so I was here to try their dishes. Had the cold cut plate with negra Modelo draft. The meat were good. They can do better with the bread though. Freshly baked artisan rolls would have been better than basic cold rolls.y wife ordered fries and they were actually quite good read more

The very best thing about Mexico is this little German restaurant! I've traveled extensively around Mexico and have not found a better beer list. They have plenty of world-class German beers and many other European brews - some on tap, others only in bottles. They allow smoking on the patio and have a very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent food selection too. Try the pork shank... AMAZING! read more

Awesome place for German food and quality beer. Good location, quick service. Great bratwurst. Friendly and polite staff.

Strictly based on drinks. Ordered the margarita with Jose Especial for about $29 pesos (converts to a little over $2 USD per drink). Muy bien! Drinks are tasty frozen or on the rocks. The service is pretty laid back. I suppose what really surprised me was the American music playing at a Mexican establishment. I'll come back for drinks though, since they are barato. read more

Went here with a Mexicana/Gringo couple who are locals after a concert at Teatro Peon Contreras. I'll echo others here. I was dubious. I usually don't go to Mexico for the german style beer halls or Irish pubs but I trusted my friends and wasn't disappointed. I had a really good sandwich with tasty cured meats and cheese and happily drank the good beer that was ordered for me. The ambience and decor work together to make a relaxed vibe to sit and talk and drink and eat and drink, exactly as it should be. One star off for okay but slow and indifferent service but worth the trip and I'd go again. I don't remember the full tab but for the 3 of us the price, given the quality, seemed more than fair. read more
