Being too hot to drink a beer and not pass out (Belgian beer is strong and not watery like American Buds and MGDs), we ordered a Coke and to eat, I got the entricote (sp?) Montoise. This was basically a pork chop (and a very fine chop at that) with their special local sauce on it "Montoise" which basically means that its from Mons. The sauce was a creamy one with bacon and mushrooms and some other tasty stuff in it. This dish came with a salad and a little basket full of fries/frites. My other half ordered something similar but just with a garlic butter for taste and she was impressed too. The best thing about this was the price. Each dish was about fifteen euros each, which, in case you didn't know it, is a good deal at a restaurant in Belgium.

Damn, I was over the moon - they had on the English FA Cup game, Man Utd vs. Chelsea! This is the first time that I'd seen a non-Belgian game there. Nice!!

This cafe is right on the Grand Place next to Le St Germain. Actually when I joined a friend…read moreoutside the cafe who I saw enjoying a Hoegaarden, we chatted and watched all the WWII military tanks that just rolled into town. I only realized that I was at this cafe instead of the other when the coffee came and it was in a glass cup. Never had it in that before at St G. Of course the coffee was tasty but since I didn't get inside, I don't know what it looks like in there or what else is on the menu. Like all the other cafes in the square, I'm guessing a decent food menu but will report back once I'm inside and have something to eat there.

Its not a very big place but very friendly and they have several different beers to choose from, both draft and in bottles. On game days they also barbeque outside. By barbeque, I mean that you can get a sausage or hamburger and both are tasty. They also serve beer outside on game days.
