I wish I had gone to this incredible bridal shop first, after trailing around London & Paris I found my ideal mother of the bride dress in my home city! There is a good selection of Mother of the Bride dresses, but the best thing is, they are made to order & you can choose from a very large range of colours, so very individual. Then the shop recommended where to buy shoes & bag online, which can be dyed to match your outfit & they made my fascinator to match, so overall a very special outfit just for me was created. Melanie & Kirsty were so welcoming & professional, I felt very comfortable & well cared for during my appointment. I would highly recommend you give them a call & book an appointment. Avoid Avoid Avoid! Unfortunately these people aren't interested in the "Bride To Be" and her big day. They're only interested in getting their hands on your money at all costs!! It's all about the money and once they have your money they're rude, offensive and very hurtful. A mother and daughter set up both equally as greedy as each other. I arranged an appointment to have a look at some wedding dresses when the shop re-opened in April. However since making the booking I had found 'the' dress that I had been looking for at a fraction of the cost online with a different company. I emailed La belle to explain, the response I got was ' Hi Sarah, Thank you for your e-mail. We're intrigued as to how and where you have found your dress when the shops are shut? Kind Regards Kirsty and Melanie La Belle Angèle by Aurora Designs' To be accused of lying, which is basically what the email is saying has left a rather unpleasant taste in my mouth. Maybe La belle fail to realise that people can still buy products online. I would 100% not recommend based on their rather nasty response. read more

I do not have words to describe the wonderful experience I have had with La Belle. The team there are fantastic and were phenomenal at helping me pick my perfect dress. I found (and still find) wedding planning very daunting especially with all of the decisions that need to be made. I discovered La Belle after visiting the majority of the top wedding dress shops in East Anglia (8+) and two in London. Not being able to find what I was looking for I had ultimately decided to go with a favoured designer and traveled to London to begin the process of having a dress specially designed. However the day I walked through the doors of La Belle the search ended and I found my perfect dress with the help of Megan. Once the dress was in I had the most wonderful fitting with Melanie. She really helped me think about the best jewellery options and helped my confidence grow as I moved onto selecting a veil and headpiece. Our appointment lasted much longer than anticipated. It seemed like the conversation didn't end. Melanie, Kirsty and their team had so much insight and wonderful advice to offer. I found this so so valuable. I had some minor alternations in mind for the dress. Once the dress was in I was referred to Hannah (their seamstress) who blew me away. She was able to capture exactly what I wanted in a matter of minutes. Kirsty was amazing at helping me design a headpiece that complimented my dress and was bespoke to me. The whole service from start to finished was so personalised. One of my favourite aspects of their beautiful shop is the array of historic wedding pictures in the bridal fitting room. A large, airy, classic and elegant space which surpassed many of the places I had been to. I highly, highly recommend La Belle. I can't express enough what a wonderful team they are! read more

I got married in August and bought my dress from La Belle Angèle in Norwich. The back of the dress is sheer with little buttons held closed by elasticated loops. Out of the 20 loops on the back of the dress, 6 of them stretched out of shape and wouldn't close properly, (3 of them the night before the wedding as I was having a final try-on of the dress, and 3 of them over the course of the wedding day) resulting in me having to constantly ask guests (and my photographer!) at the wedding to do the buttons back up again and check that they looked like they were closed even though they weren't. I didn't want my dress to look like it wasn't buttoned properly but sadly there wasn't much that anyone could do! This caused massive stress to me before and on the day of the wedding, but La Belle Angèle who I have complained to have, while apologising for the issue, also suggested that I somehow caused this issue myself by overstretching the loops when doing up the buttons! I didn't know that there was a 'wrong' way to do up buttons. They also implied that I am lying about the whole thing, stating to me: 'We have seen some of your wedding photographs and from what we can see your dress appears to be buttoned up perfectly' Now where on earth would they have seen my wedding pictures?? Surely they don't mean from my photographer's sneak peek on her facebook page? Only one of her photos showed the back of the dress and of course she wouldn't pick one which showed the back gaping open! They shouldn't have the right to somehow stalk my photos and suggest I'm lying to protect themselves. They also stated to me: 'We should add that these loops are under constant tension when you have the dress on and any sudden movements .e.g. dancing can cause the elastic limit to be exceeded.' - If I had known that I would have gone for a corset back dress instead :( Thanks for reading my rant if you got this far, not sure there's much else I can do now except try to warn people. If you ask me La Belle Angèle certainly don't deserve their 2018 award for exceptional customer service! read more

I stumbled across this little place just the other week. It's a tiny shop but seems cosy rather than cramped and their changing area is quite spacious. I had a good look at their bridesmaid dresses and they have quite a selection and are so willing to help. Nice atmosphere, friendly. read more

I am a very upset 9 months pregnant bride to be and I would not recommend anybody to visit this shop and have to endure the rudeness of the owner and her equally rude seamstress! I went to La Belle Angele to look at their wide selection of bridesmaid dresses and after finding my dream dresses I ordered 5 of them totalling almost £1000 including the extra lengths which of course they charge extra for! The shop girls took the measurements and told me which sizes I needed so taking their expert advice I paid half up front for the deposit. So far the service seemed excellent. That was until we came back to try on the dresses, one of the dresses was too big , I'm not talking a nip in too big, but hanging like a curtain too big! So my bridesmaid tried on one of the other girls dresses which was a size smaller and it fit perfectly. So the clear solution you would have thought would be send it back and get a size smaller........instead the owner came in like a scatty whirlwind grabbing the tape measure checking the dress and the girl and trying to explain why it didn't fit and what needed to be altered in a completely rude and patronising manner and said that I would be charged for this! She then told me to leave and she would ring me once she found out why it didn't fit. She called a few days later and said they needed to lift the shoulder and that was why, so we went back AGAIN! Again the dress clearly didn't fit. At this point I was getting very upset as she would not budge and insisted it was no fault of theirs. She was rude, constantly interrupted and spoke to my wedding party with complete disrespect. How she runs a business I do not know! I explained I had come to this shop for a personalised and tailored service and if I wanted to simply take sizes off the shelf and try them to see what would fit I could have done that in a department store , to which the seamstress replied 'why didn't you then?'. After joining in the argument herself the seamstress then decided to storm off. When my nan in law to be ' who has been making dresses for about 50 years!' Tried to discuss the issue the owner said to me (whilst looking my nan in law up and down like something off her shoe!) 'who is this woman? What relation is she to you? It's your account I will only discuss it with you.' At this point of complete rudeness I left the shop to speak to my fiancé . I decided I had no choice but to make the decision to pay the remaining bill rather than risk losing my deposit and take my dresses from the shop. I left the shop at 9 months pregnant completely stressed out and in floods of tears and now have 5 dresses which will all need alterations incurring even more cost to me! To add insult to injury when I went to pay the balance and take the dresses the owner would not even come downstairs instead got a shop girl who had only worked there a fortnight to deal with us. read more

I was in here in April looking for a dress. I'd just been down to London looking for ideas and really felt places were looking down their noses at me. This place was a breath of fresh air. They were so friendly and helpful without being false. They gave me lots of ideas and I felt really at ease. I think I'm going to go back there and get my dress from them. read more

After walking into a couple of other bridal shops in Norwich, nothing could beat the welcome from Melanie and staff at Bele Angele. If you are looking for a professional family run bridal shop this is the place. They are extremely helpful and have an eye for what suits you best. I have been to about 30 different bridal shops since i got engaged up north and down south. this one has got to be the worse i have been to. I bought my £300 shoes from there which was fine the girl was nice and everything went smoothly. Until they told me they were ready for me to pick up. they rang me at half 3 on a friday. The shop closes at 4 and i has my dress fitting on the saturday so needed the shoes. I rang the shop and said could they stay open 10 minutes for me so i could get there in time. After a big dicsussion and pleading on my side they eventually agreed to stay and wait for me. i picked up the shoes and they were fine ( they didnt have to do much to do them as they were ordered from an outside company) I went back a week later to order a veil as time was running out before my wedding and didnt have time to shop around. They said they could do it in time and eveything would be fine. I was worried about the length of my veil as my dress wasnt local i couldnt try it together, ( i would of thought they would put it with one of there dresses simular to try it but they didnt offer) ordered it and paid for it. which was another £200 spent at the shop. Few weeks later they rang again on a friday just before half 3. so i set off to pick up the veil got caught in a bit of traffic so i rang and said i really need to veil for tomrorow is it possible you could wait open for a couple of minutes, i might not be late but just incase i am. They said no we shut at 4! i got there at 4.03pm and they were all locked up and shut! ridiculas. They knew i worked monday-thursday 8-5 so couldnt pick it up during the week and fridays i worked 8-4 so i was already cutting work early to come and saturday and sundays i was back up north. Couldnt belive they couldnt stay open for me for a few minutes! After spending £500 with them i would never recommend them to anyone and my family are all in the wedding industry so will not be sending anybody to this shop. My dress shop up north did late night appointments for my bridesmaids to do fittings as they worked during the day - this is what a shop should do to help you make your wedding planning easy and help out seen as though you spend so much money for them.
