We enjoyed everything we ordered. I had Gnocchi and an Insalata Caprese, and, being a vegetarian, I was really happy to have a lot of options from which to choose, which is not always the case in Mexico. And my significant other was happy, too, since he enjoyed a steak. This place consistently gets really good reviews and Puebla has a lot of sophisticated locals and visitors, so we went based on that and were really glad we did. And don't forget dessert.

La luna sul mare is definitely the best, most authentic Italian restaurant I've been to in Puebla…read more It's truly a hidden gem in the city: the place is charming and the food is excellent. Went here after an Italian friend recommended it and it certainly reminds me of an Italian trattoria. The owner, Marco, came out to greet us and offer us recommendations of what he thought we'd like, assuring us that if we didn't like them, he would change the dishes free of charge. Nothing went back to the kitchen: amazing mozzarella cheese, marlin and shrimp tostas, pistachio pizza, herb crusted sea bass, ravioli with porcini mushrooms, meat and spinach caneloni on black truffle sauce... everything we had was really good and original. Don't be discouraged by the lack of clientele (on a Tuesday afternoon we were the only customers), the food is great, the service is efficient and you'll eat as close as you can to Italy in Puebla.

We were also treated with some complimentary soup (chicken or shrimp). I enjoyed the shrimp but do recommend squeezing some of the lime on.l too. The ambiance added an extra star for this restaurant. We were able to have a table outside but with some heat lamps since it was a bit chilly which made it very comfortable even with the chillier temperatures. There was also some beautiful live music that was the cherry on top for great service from the friendly and attentive staff! We didn't have reservations but were able to get seated with no wait on Thursday night.

While you won't find your typical pepperoni or classic styles here, Vittorio's has its own unique approach to pizza, deeply rooted in Puebla's flavors. The Mole Pizza was unlike anything I've had before--rich, complex, and perfectly balanced, showcasing the depth of Puebla's signature sauce in an unexpected way. But the real standout for me was the Huitlacoche Pizza. If you're unfamiliar with huitlacoche, I highly recommend looking it up before diving in--it's an ingredient with deep cultural and culinary significance, and Vittorio's does it justice. I personally loved it. This place is now a must-stop whenever I'm in town, and I look forward to coming back for more.
