Everything, from boquerones (lightly fried large sardines) to patatas bravas to pulpo (octopus) has been perfect every time. And the prices are fantastic at 6 euro for a plate of boquerones and 3 euro for the patatas bravas. But by far our favorite is the made to order paella mixto. Jorge puts love into his cooking, and this, and his fresh seafood and vegetables, keep us coming. Ack year after year. It is always our first meal when we reach torrevieja, our home away from home.

A very warm welcome as we arrived in normal Thai tradition, into 'pseudo' Thai décor. I say pseudo but not unliked. It was pleasant sitting in peacock chairs and seeing nice blue linen napkins. Cocktails arrived very promptly and were of generous proportions, did I complain? No way. Food was so authentic that I asked if the chef was Thai. Happens he was Chinese but he knew how to make those dishes sing. Chicken satay was delicious with a slight tang to the skewers cooled by the peanut sauce. The prawns in sesame seed coating were out of this world, especially with that wonderful lime dip. That batter was in no way oily. The main courses did not let us down either. The whole meal was one of the best we had eaten on this holiday. Finishing with coffee and a Spanish brandy. I should say finishing with half a glass of brandy, again generous portions. It is a really quiet and peaceful restaurant and the food is representative of your location . A great selection of local fish or steaks all cooked on an open BBQ grill. For starters you can't go wrong with the foie gras - hot or cold both are stunning. The same with the steaks freshly grilled to your liking. And for me the high light was the pudding - lemon and mint sorbet. Simple but one of the best deserts I've had. The taste is enhanced by multiple jelly balls all filled with lemon juice - that really hit you with a sharp lemon flavour as they melt or you bite into them. Will definitely be back - already twice in three days to check it wasn't a one off wonder - it wasn't The staff are great, attentive but not in your face and the overall vibe can be what you want. There are families, couples and friends and you just make it what you want it to be. This trip will be a memorable 40th birthday

The cons are that the service offered isn't the friendliest, the cocktails barely contain any alcohol (it's not the alcoholism talking, just observational), and the food is simply not good (even though priced fair). To give you some examples that led me to this conclusion: the group I went with was declined a table at the sea, even though during the entirety of our stay multiple tables were free and unused. And even though the table was in the dead center next to the bar and kitchen, the order taking took very long. Further, the cocktails my friend got were more sugary compared to my Coca-Cola, and the food was not prepared well. I've ordered the Sole meunière (pictured). The fish was very large, yet it was simply drenched in melted butter and so chewy my cheeks hurt after finishing my plate. I wouldn't recommend to go here, if only for the views on the sea if you plan to grab a regular beer at the bar (which has a terrace).

When the remainder of our party arrived we were shown to our table, outside on the patio overlooking the sea. What could make this idyllic situation better. The food. Enrico was the most friendly waiter, and we met him again on our second visit, when he was their with his wife and having a meal too. So if the staff eat at the same palce they work, got to have something about the place. ALWAYS BOOK!!!!! Can't fault the food nor the service. You have to get the attention of the staff sometimes, but that's only because they are so busy. Once you have they are very attentive. Air Conditioned, Children's Menu, Disabled Facilities, Limited Parking, but street parking normally OK, if not competing with the church. Highly recommend the fillet steak, and the spare ribs. The children's menu is equally good. One of the young chefs came out to talk to us on our second visit.

Overall I would recommend this restaurant as it has been the best meal I've had since being here and I would come back again, but I will probably have to wear trousers so it doesn't hurt as much to sit on the woven chairs.
