With two days to visit the sites of Mexico City, we tried to make use of our limited time to see…read morethe places on our list. One of our destinations was a day trip out to Teotihuacan. Hearing from friends that did the trip on their own, you had to get from your hotel to the bus station for the trip out to Teotihuacan. Granted the round trip via public transportation was about one half cheaper, we opted signing up for a tour from Viajes for convenience, any hassles due to language barriers and safety factor on a busy public bus.
Signing up with our hotel concierge in the morning, the van picked us up at 11:30 and our hotel was the last pick-up stop. The payment was made to the tour guide. Being on tours around the world, we knew about the obligatory shopping stops. We stopped at a silver factory for about half an hour. Then we were off to the trip to Teotihuacan. The tour guide narrated in Spanish and English.
We were dropped off at one of the Teotihuacan entrances and given our admission tickets and were allotted 2.5 hours for our visit. In the time, we were able to visit and walk up the Temples of the Sun and Moon and stroll the Avenue of the Dead. When we left, the tour took us to a nearby restaurant for an hour lunch and then a visit to a stone art and tequila shop for about 20 minutes.
Then we headed back to the City and we were the first ones dropped off. Last in first out. That was nice. Viajes provided a nice tour to Teotihuacan, which fit our requirements given our time limitations.
