I went to Legacy Salon and Spa for a hair appointment with Angie at L'Shear Bar and Salon. I took a picture of the hair color I wanted done to my hair and was assured that she could re-create that look on my hair. When I walked into the Salon my hair was up to my rear. Angie bleached my ends and set the timer for 45 minutes. She did not check my foils at any point during this duration. Once she washed the color out she put a leave in conditioner on my head and left the Salon for close to an hour to pick her daughter up from school. I've been to Angie before and she did not previously put a leave in conditioner in my hair despite the fact that she has colored it before so this automatically worried me. Once Angie finally washed my hair and revealed the color to me it looked nothing like the picture and my hair felt like elastic rubber bands and was falling out in bundles literally falling out. Angie struggled to dry and straighten my hair, which continued to fall out but only now it looked like a bundle of straw just falling out of my head. I expressed my concern and my unhappiness with the service. Angie went on to cut the ends of my hair because according to her "it was so unhealthy." I get my hair trimmed regularly every 6 weeks and it is impossible that my hair was that unhealthy and if it was then she should have refused to put any bleach or color on it. I communicated to her that my hair was nothing like that when I walked in and it was clear that I was distressed. Angie then closed the door to her salon in fear that anyone would hear my complaining. She began to explain to me that color is damaging to the hair and that my hair only appears to be shorter because it went from dark to light (absolute ridiculousness). It is her duty as the hair stylist and expert in this field to explain to me the consequences of the hair coloring process as well as to let me know that it would not look like the picture. She said that I could come back in the next day and she would fix the color (meaning take me back to my original color because the color she did not on my hair was absolutely hideous and was not a hair color I can go to the workplace in) as well as treat my hair. That night and the next day my hair continued to fall out in clumps and was thinner in certain areas than others and was extremely uneven. Angie did not see me as promised and ignored my messages, forcing me to go to another stylist and pay another $100 in order to get my hair fixed. That hair stylist was in shock once she saw my hair. She showed my how my hair was fine in certain areas and thicker in the others. She showed me just how damaged it was due to the color that Angie put on my hair and explained to me that she had to deposit darker color on there (which could not damage my hair anymore than it was already damaged as well as treat it and cut it in order to rid it of the dead hair as much as she could. My hair is now to my shoulders and back to its original color. Angie finally texted me refusing to refund me my money as I have requested. she claims that she is there to please her clients and have them "red carpet ready any day of the week," (quote from yelp). I was not, however, happy nor red carpet ready. In fact I refused to leave my house with my hair looking the way it did. I literally went from long (to my butt) dark brown healthy and shiny hair to short unhealthy and dull hair to my shoulders. All because Angie did not perform the responsibilities of her job adequately. the purpose of this review is to simply ensure that what happened to my hair does not happen to anyone else under Angie's hands.
