A couple of years ago, I was involved in auditing Social Services. Now I'd love to go through the protocols of this establishment!!
We've been blessed with a statue of Lord Baden Powell on the Quay recently, but they are cutting back bus services.
All our roundabout have lovely flowers, but pavements are cracked and unsafe.
We have loads of events going on, but youths drink in public places and make a nuisance of themselves.
I don't really like money being ringfenced to this degree. I love our beautiful roundabouts, but not at the cost of people getting injured on pavements.
Nine months ago, I bought a parking permit for the area behind my home. Everything was dandy, I was happy, my visitors were happy, the world was at peace.
In March, a rather billigerent lady started accosting a friend of mine whenever my friend left in her car. Then she accosted me, at swore at me in front of my daughter. I was not best pleased and asked the lady to take it up with the Council. A few days later, she was more rude, and since it was a weekend, I logged the incident with the police, who were quite prepared to come to see her.
I phoned the Council, who assured me I was legally permitted to have use of the carpark. They kept assuring me for months. Then I got a letter telling me, I was not permitted to use the carpark.
A phonecall was made to them telling them that I was permitted as I had been sold the permit. The man at the other end said no. I replied that since they had taken my money and I had not hidden any fact about my address, there was a contract. He said no there wasn't.
They do not understand contract law!!!
So, so far, I've heard no more, and as I stated on the phone, I go on using the permit because it is my legal right.
Poole Borough seem to suffer from institutional i****, and I've encountered this so many times!
They can't take me to court, because, if they've done any research, they know they will lose.
