May 24 I receive a letter from HMRC stating that A bank transfer is being made to Jerram Surlis Ltd. I emailed the company on 2 June and again on 25 June again no response. I then called and spoke to a very nice person who informed me that David was on holiday and that it would be dealt with on his return. I received an email from him on 23 July stating I have been away on Holiday since 23rd June, you should have had an automatic reply telling you that. I will deal with as soon as I can. Regards David. I received no automatic reply from my emails although I have one the past and this does not account for the fact that the first two emails were sent before he went on holiday. I have still not received my repayment of taxes and it is now just over eight weeks since the date on the letter from HMRC. I will not be recommending this firm to anyone. After posting this I contacted HMRC and was informed that the money had been transferred on the 25 May and would have been in the companies bank by June 1 at the latest. I phoned the company, again I spoke with another lady and stated clearly that I expected the money to be transferred to my account that day. It was. I also received an email from David explaining why it had taken so long but no explanation as to why my first two emails had not been responded to or why my instructions had not been followed.

On a business level we have found them to be thorough and very flexible - they plug in and do what we need them to do but when we've had staff changes over the years (where some of our accounts people have wanted to specialise in management accounts etc... and do more than the standard accounts function) then they've been happy to adjust or pare their hours to fit in with our needs.
