I got their trio of tartare as well as their potatoes. The 3 tartare were: classic, vegetable, and mint. The vegetable one was far and above my favorite. Second was the mint. The mint gave it a more Middle Eastern taste which worked. My least favorite was the classic. I've had much tastier "classic" tartares and this one tasted like they put ketchup in it or something like that. I was not a fan. The potatoes seasoned with Herbes de Provence were good. The atmosphere is nice too and almost feels cave/cellar like. They have a number of other delicious looking tapas to choose from and I definitely would return.

Never will I forget the bone chilling scream of my son in my wife's arms. Staff was of little assistance. The so-called manager, "Liam" was violently drunk. He was telling me that the supposed assailant had fled the scene, then a moment later, "he was in handcuffs, downstairs". It was evident who actually threw the glass. This particular individual was merely trying to dissimulate the situation. We received no official apology from the establishment. We left feeling sick and confused. The owner(s) were nowhere to be seen, although, reading these reviews it seems that this "Liam" was indeed the owner. Wonderful. How could this happen to us? How could this happen to a child? And how can a person get away with such abhorrent behaviour? These were questions that haunted us and which lead me to write this review. To all potential customers, I would recommend you look elsewhere for an evening pint. I tend to believe that most people would not support this cowardly act. To the James Joyce Pub, I expect an apology. I can be contacted by email, facebook, instagram and whatsApp. There is no excuse. To my son, I apologise that I could not protect you.

He also paired wines for us and recommended we get a salad. We had the following meats and cheeses: 1. jambon cru lyonnaise 2. chorizo doux 3. Brillat-Savarin (paired with radish) 4. Sechons (paired with dried fruit) 5. Fougerus (paired with marmalade) I enjoyed both meats, but really enjoyed the creamy Fougerus cheese with the marmalade. The salad gave a lightness to the meal and helped cleanse our palates between meats and cheeses. The place is small and cozy, but lively!
