I left multiple voice mails, which were all unreturned. Finally, I decided to book a time slot through her StyleSeat page (as there doesn't seem to be an official website). Only then did she call to tell me there was a mistake and the website double-booked me so she wouldn't be able to accommodate me that day. So, she scheduled me for a week later! Then, on the day of the appointment, I got slightly lost because the building name is completely different from her business name "NE Styles", so I walked in 7 minutes late. When I walked in, there was a couple sitting in her office chatting with her, and she was completely surprised upon my arrival, as if she had no knowledge of my appointment. I told her I had an appointment at that time and she responded, "Well, now you're late. I have to keep up with my appointments and I'm going to do them now instead." However, I had a 45-minute time slot booked for a haircut - which she said would take 30 minutes while I was there. In other words, I still had 38 minutes left in my time slot, and she still refused to cut my hair. She wouldn't hear any of it, and said she wouldn't allow me to have my hair cut regardless. Furthermore, there is nothing anywhere on her webpage mentioning a penalty like that for being about 5 minutes late. She told me I either had to wait for 2 hours or come back in a week. I booked an appointment for a week later... only to receive a voicemail from her that same exact day (1 hour before my appointment) that she had jury duty and would not be able to follow through with that appointment either. Then, she told me I should go ahead and see if I could get a refund from Groupon. This was an extremely unpleasant experience with a completely unprofessional, disorganized and, frankly, nasty stylist. I will most certainly spread the story to anyone who considers having his or her hair done in this area. I have never written a review in my life, but I feel very passionately about informing people of this awful business.

I accepted the time change with zero fuss. When I arrived at the salon, Tony/TQ the stylist was not there. His assistant (whose name also begins with a T) was wrapping up a client to sit her under the dryer. She was very polite and professional. After relaxing my hair (something I thought Tony would be doing - if he deemed necessary), she washed it but could not set it because I wanted a wavy mold. I sat in Tony's chair from 9:05am to 10:10am. Yes, you read that correctly, I waited over AN HOUR for Tony to arrive, only to have him stroll in as if he did not have an appointment at 8:30. Not once did he apologize for his tardiness. As a matter of fact, I'm certain the only reason he made his "entrance" was because his assistant went outside to call his cell and let him know that his appointment had a wedding. Tony DID NOT apologize for being tardy or bother to offer an explanation. When I told him how I wanted my hair styled (remember I waited for over an hour to have it molded in waves) he said it was too short but would get it close to the style I desired and showed him from HIS instagram account. Well folks, there was no wave in the back, on the sides or anywhere. So essentially, that hour plus that was wasted sitting with a plastic cap on my head to retain moisture could have been spent under a dryer for at least 30 minutes. Once Tony began styling my hair, he curled and spritz, spritz and curled. My hair was so hard and stiff I had to spray dry shampoo on it and oil sheen to loosen it up.The end result WAS NOT what I request or remotely close to it. The service was horrible. I found it quite ironic that he asked Alexa to play the Tasha Cobbs station so he could play gospel music and carry-on as a "believer" (of Christ I presume) because his lack of professionalism and courtesy was not Christ-like at all. I don't regret not saying anything to him because I couldn't discern if he would intentionally sabotage my hair further or lace me with vulgarities. I paid Tony for his piss-poor, unprofessional service because I believe karma and the universe works in mysterious ways. I'm sharing my experience with you readers because I do not want you to be fooled. If you are looking for a top notch salon, with decent customer service, that keeps prompt appointments, TST Salon, Tony/TQ (whichever name he answers to) is NOT it. Please do yourself a favor and drive the extra mile, pay the extra fee, whatever it is you have to do. Just don't go there. Lucky for us, they are grossly undercharging for their services, as the sisterhood and sheer talent they possess alone should and could easily cost double what they are asking. I decided against a trial, partly because I had no time for one, but also because I just felt somewhere deep down I could trust them without even meeting them. Their work online and word of mouth referrals were exceptional enough for me to feel safe essentially winging it day of. Everyone's hair and makeup stayed completely in tact throughout 90 degree heat and Florida humidity for a 4:30pm outdoor ceremony and good old partying after. My face is so oily and acne prone and my scalp sweats like a sinner in church, but there was not a drop of wetness on my head anywhere and nothing slid or moved, even when my dogs accidentally licked me not a drop of makeup was wiped away. Laura herself was sent here direct from heaven. She entertained and chatted with my mom for hours, was a Jeopardy board of fun facts and cool stories, and made every girl feel so beautiful and special. Not only did she give me a 10 minute head massage that I think relieved 40 years of tension from my 29 year old body, she also made me feel so loved and listened to. Laura took a single glance at a few of my Pinterest photos and replicated exactly what I had wanted. I love this woman with my whole heart. Marina - god what a doll. I have never seen my own sisters look so beautiful. The makeup she accomplished and the kindness she showed everyone, including my mom and mother in law is something I'll hold with me forever. I give this woman all my love and support my whole life through. My one singular complaint is that they refused to let me feed them, and as an Italian/German woman marrying a Haitian man, "no" was simply not an answer I wanted to accept. I genuinely cannot believe my wedding is over and I don't get to do it again next weekend with these women. Small tip: if you plan to have hair and makeup services at your venue, coordinate with your artists early to determine what time you'll need venue access. You might be surprised at how long it takes to complete hair and makeup! After booking, Tim was prompt, kind, and professional with email communication, and the team was very gracious and accommodating with an unforeseen change along the way. On the wedding day, we had Gia and Robin, and they were absolutely fantastic. They arrived very prepared--even bringing extra lighting and extension cords. They were calm, professional, and genuinely pleasant to be around. Exactly the kind of energy you want on your wedding morning. Gia did my hair and makeup plus three additional hair services, and Robin handled six other makeup services. Everyone--including our moms--was thrilled with how they looked. My mom even mentioned it again the day after the wedding, which really says a lot. Gia truly listened to me. I talked through everything: my uneven eyelids (lol), bald spots along my hairline, inspiration photos, likes and dislikes, and my history of sensitive eyes with false lashes (usually they start poking out of my eyelids by the end of the night when done by other makeup artists). Gia had a solution for everything. She modified the placement/sizing of the false lashes, used a color filler for the bald spots, and chose a latex-based lash glue for extra strength (my lashes stayed perfectly intact all night--even after happy tears!). When my under-eye area began to crease, Gia not only adjusted the makeup but also applied a special serum to help keep it smooth. The result was lovely, comfortable, and lasted all night. I am so grateful for Gia and Robin--they are talented, thoughtful, and truly care about their clients.
