(chestnut/châtaigne is plentiful in Corse and utilized from root to fruit. it's used for cabinetry/firewood, livestock feed, liquor, pound into flour for breads, pasta & polenta.. or plain roasted/peeled for cheap!

In April, the menu didn't provide much choice, but no matter, We had as a shared starter a brandade de cabillaud with raw scallop slices. Ample portion, matchless flavor. Main plates were roast chicken (well done, but not really interesting), and braised lamb shank done in a north African style (herissa based sauce, couscous with bits of fruit and aubergine. This was big city stuff of the highest rank. this with a shared dessert and a 50cl AOC rose from Ajaccio (excellent) came to 65 euros, all inclusive.

The water is so crystal and clear, that you see the bottom even if you're far from the shore and it's really deep. The beach is equipped by the sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a hotel restaurant there open for lunch with a beautiful view of the bay. As for the hotel itself: both times we were there we've been placed to the rooms with interesting novel design: the shower, bathtub and the sink were not separated, it all was a part of the room. This may seem original, but it's not very comfortable and convenient. Especially at night. And all together it's a bit uncapacious. They have a mini bar, no coffee or tea maker. We had a lovely balcony with a beautiful view and used to order room service for dinner to enjoy it in our privacy and romance over there. Their restaurant we visited for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is very delicious and with a lot of tasty variety of fruits, breads, pastries, cheese, meat cuts, they also have a crepes station and you can enjoy the freshest crepes cooked for you with jams or maple syrup. No smoked salmon nor Champaign though. They have SPA which we visited once for massage services. It wasn't the best massage in my life, but if you have free 150 euro and want to indulge yourself and relax - you can try it. It's absolutely no therapeutic nor deep tissue, very light and soft, I don't like that, kind of useless. And more time they just pour oil on you, cover you and go around the table... to work less on you:) Gym is ingenious too there. It's outside. Meaning not in the separate room or premises, but in the open air. I can't call it gym really, there is an old bike, old treadmill and that's mostly it. I mean that if there are more than two people over there - the third one will not actually fit and will have nothing to do. But I haven't seen there more than one person for all the time. You can try and run in the neighborhood - but it's gonna be tough - cause it's too hilly and all up-and -down. Or take a road bike ride if you please. They have special packages, like Full Board or Half Board. That's very convenient and beneficial. Cause their restaurant for dinner is the best in the neighborhood anyways. Drinks are not included though, only for breakfast. I know that they have all the points to get those five stars, but I'd rate them as solid four stars for the comfort and convenience. The beach and the sea would get all five stars though.

The rooms are decent, they have a sparsely decorated and furnished small private courtyard with an out door shower. We got the handicapped accessible room for some reason so other rooms may be different but our bathroom left a lot to be desired, but that's often the case with handicapped accessible bathrooms. The beds were good, this is the only hotel we've had on our tour of Corsica that got the pillows right! Everywhere has huge dense, heavy pillows you have to crane your neck to sleep on, not the case here. The WiFi dropped out frequently and the are no good ways to charge anything near your bed with out unplugging things and moving nightstands. Also the lights are incredibly harsh inside at night and we opted to just turn everything off instead of feeling like we were in a stadium. The rooms were clean and smelled nice, ours had weird furniture placement but possibly due to it being the handicapped accessible room. We didn't use the pool since it's right in the middle of the hotel, right next to the restaurant and seems awkward but we did go to the beach and played in the Mediterranean Sea which was great. Service was wonderful, everyone we dealt with was gracious and pleasant, any questions or needs you had were addressed immediately and fully. Very happy in that regard. Overall it's a great place, certain aspects are lacking but not to the point they're more than a mild inconvenience.
