I can't name everything I saw so I took a bunch of photos. When she saw there wasn't an exact match in stock, she checked the artist's website for other shops that sell her work, called two shops to ask if they had them in stock, and helped me plot my route there. That type of service is the stuff that created happy (and loyal) shoppers! This is a cute little shop on Rue Mont Royal, in the heart of the plateau, selling jewelry, cards, stickers, mugs, t-shirts, tea towels, mugs, and other fun gifts made by local artists and reasonably priced. This store is the first Miniso that I have ever visited that is not in a mall. It was different seeing a standalone store. You can get cool items at cheap prices. I stumbled on the sunglasses section first. I tried on a few pairs. They felt cheap, but stylish. I like the merchandise in Miniso, although I have yet to buy anything from the store! For instance, I liked the bear USB 4-port hub. It was adorable. It would look great with the bear trash can. I do love the computer and phone accessories. I could look at the USB fans and charging cables all day. There are tons of snacks. If you like Pocky, you can find practically every flavour imaginable. The stuffed animals and water bottles were at the back. I liked the varieties and colours. There were a fair number of folks shopping when I was there. The sales folks were trying to help a person with a question as I walked out. It's a nice addition to the area. Maybe when I'm back, I'll get something and break my browsing streak! (325)

Planète Otaku is a neat little shop on Sainte-Hubert. They carry a lot of anime themed figures,…read morefunk pops, collectibles, some gundams, paints and modelling tools, posters, t-shirts and other cool stuff. All authentic, licensed goods from reputable manufacturers, though, which I appreciated. Their prices are quite reasonable, for example they're asking ~50$ for their 20cm banpresto figures, around 50-60$ for their nendroids, which is a little steep, but keep in mind it's retail, and given the extreme popularity of nendos these days, it's to be expected. In terms of figures they carry original figma, banpresto, nendroid but unfortunately for me, no Max Factory. Personally I'm really picky when it comes to this stuff and they didn't have anything I was interested in, but if you're into mainstream stuff like My Hero Academia or One Piece or Naruto or Love Live, you'll probably find something that's to your liking ^___^ The owner is a nice guy. We talked about the Otakuthon convention, I didn't see him at the exhibitors hall, but it was quite large and there were so many merchants, I must've missed him... I'm told he was low on stock on account of convention sales... I couldn't tell to be honest, he has so much stuff! Apparently soon he'll be taking down a dividing wall and expanding the shop to double its current size, which is great. All in all if you like anime and you're looking for gifts or collectibles, definitely check out planète otaku, it's a nice little shop.

I used to use some strong perfume-y detergent but it is now making me nauseous.

Very disappointing experience at Deserres Montréal - Ville-Marie…read more I bought a toy on discount and returned to the store the same day, less than 3 hours later, hoping to exchange it for another toy of exactly the same value, simply because my child preferred a different one. The exchange was refused, even though the item was unused and the request was reasonable. What was most upsetting was the rude and dismissive attitude of the staff when I calmly explained the situation. I understand store policies, but customer service should also include courtesy and basic understanding. Given the circumstances, I believe some form of compensation (such as a store credit or exception exchange) would be appropriate to acknowledge the poor customer experience.
