First our room ...it was a lovely suite, with awesome balcony, floor to ceiling window views overlooking the LAKE and alpine mountains beyond. Simply breathtaking. I could easily have lived there ( no seriously) for a month ( if finances allowed) ! Very reminiscent of The Gilded Age, this hotel property has been updated but maintains its old world charm & elegance. If I didn't have a desire to see all the beauty surrounding me in Montreux, I may have Just lounge Md around in our room & enjoy the hotels many offerings! My husband's favorite part was the brunch/ Breakfast..served in a Conservatory (glass enclosed) space with views overlooking the lake & mountain vistas! Lots of fresh offerings enough to satisfy even the pickiest eater. The LOCATION, also a big part of our ease of stay. Very short walk from the rail ( train) which runs like a reliable SWISS clockwork! Clean, and timely rail cars make using the trains in Switzerland a real asset to a traveler eager to see many sights! Overall I loved this hotel, and Montreux. Switzerland has my heart! The breakfast meal and food and hotel service was wonderful. The food was always delicious and clean. My company comes here often, usually in teams, sometimes just one person at a time. Our clients use this hotel, too. Although the room was tiny and its description was misleading, everything was clean. Yet, it is in the room that I have had the worst experience of my entire business career. I have traveled all over the world for over 30 years and have had horrific experiences, but none of the rooms harmed me, until now. It is a very simple thing, but it is treacherous, and there is no excuse for it. And the staff admitted it. The bathroom has a small step that one must navigate from the bedroom. At daytime, this step up to the bathroom from the bedroom is easily seen, and as long as there is enough light, one steps up easily. Yet at night, when I was sleepy, in the total dark, I tripped on the step and fell onto the stone floor directly impacting my left knee and wrist, injuring myself. My knee swelled up instantly and I was in pain instantly, and severely. I called my friend in the US who told me to go to the kitchen to get ice and take ibuprofen. I did so. I had one day of work left and did not want to let my team down. I had one last night left to stay in Geneva before flying back home. So instead I went down to the kitchen in search of ice. The kitchen staff was incredibly considerate and prepared a large sealed ice pack which kept me from going to the hospital. As I write this, three days later, my knee is less swollen and bruised, but it still swollen and hurts a little. There is no excuse to put a step leading to the bathroom so someone can trip and hurt themselves in the dark. My business team and client use this hotel and need to stay near Montreaux, and we also stay in Geneva and Zurich. I will strongly advise our company to avoid this hotel after 1) being injured because of a dangerous and useless step, and 2) not receiving any sort of coupon, adjustment or written apology after being injured because of a careless design flaw. My knee and wrist still hurt. I cannot express my deep disappointment at this acknowledged safety hazard. If I was in the United States, I would take further action, but I loved everything else about this hotel, and wish only positive things and a thank you to the cafe staff that helped me when no one else in the hotel would help me. When I told the front desk when I checked out, all they said was they knew this step was there, and was in other rooms, as well. This acknowledged trip hazard borders on egregious ignorance and a strict review to be certain of compliance and accident prevention, IMHO.

The beds are the most comfortable and the amenities are all L'Occttane. You do have to call down to have them adjust the temp . To your liking. We set at 20c and it was perfect. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake. There is a tiny gym. The staff primarily speak French and English. If you are up for a nice long walk you can make it to The Chateau Chillon in 45 min. Along the Lake. We highly recommend a stay here. There is also a tiny market just across the street for fresh fruit and things. The train station is a 5 min comfortable walk.

The restaurant is excellent and staff amazing. This negative review fails on management or ownership. Not sure of Swiss building code...this would not muster and the rugged hose would be a big fine in the US.

The next morning our son showed us a video he had taken of 2 sizable insects in his room. Needless to say, their room was changed and apologies were given left and right from the front desk. This hotel needs a full makeover. For the price they charge, you'd expect a modern room with modern clean furniture--free from insects!! We were there 2 nights. The 2 stars were given to the front desk clerk named Vincent. He recommended a great Italian restaurant in the area and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We will not return to this hotel. They upgraded my family to a junior suite with a huge balcony overlooking the lake, that was pretty cool. Suite also had a large bed and big sofa bed, nespresso machine, minifridge. Bathroom was pretty big as well, with a nice bathtube for the kids. Kids loved the large pool and jacuzzi. The spa area had a wet sauna and gym too. Also if you are traveling with kids, they have a bunch of board games at the lobby, and there was a playground in a park right next to the hotel. Easy access to the promenade where you could take a walk around the lake. Bus stop right in front of it, plenty of buses to take you around the city. Also withing walking distance, a migros. Overall, cant complain, really liked this hotel and would stay here again.

There were stains and tears on the chairs and sofa and scuffs and damage to the walls and trim. The bathroom tile and fixtures were also very dated. Our outside patio and window were covered in cobwebs and spiders. This hotel desperately needs to be remodeled and updated. Our room had air conditioning, which was a surprise, but as it would so happen, the air conditioning didn't work. We ran it all night and our room never cooled down. It was too warm outside to open the patio door and let some fresh air in, so unfortunately we didn't sleep very well in the stuffy room. The one plus, our room had a terrific view of Lake Geneva and the surrounding town and was within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. It was very pleasant to walk along the lake and we enjoyed seeing the sunset. Would not stay at the Hotel Eurotel Riviera again and would not recommend.

5* no contest on this one…read more I have left CH 2 yrs ago and back ten I loved going there on a sunday afternoon any season to enjoy a niceclub sandwich. And over the years it was always outstanding. Yes it's pricey but boy do you get our money worth, the setting is great, a nice old fashioned smallish luxury palace on the lakeside. The terrace is a true highlight, as you face the magnificant french alps and indulge your snack, lunch or dinner the only noise that might disturb this very quiet is the horn of a "belle époque" ship on the lake ! The rooms are very comfortable, if you are lucky to have a lakeview the confort level reaches obscene levels. Having grown up in the area, I thought I was used to the view, which I found out was not the case at all. This is a new perspective when you are lying in your bed contemplating it is really something unique. So since I don't live in CH anymore I always take the time to get off the highway when driving past Vevey t grab a bite or have a coffee, and I have NEVER been dissapointed :-)

The Staff was really nice (other than the few Managers that dislike Americans which is normal in Europe) and the restaurant was REALLY GOOD. The price was about half the price of comparable hotels some that didn't even have AC. The AC in this hotel was great and they also had fresh mountain water dispensers with and without gas in the hallways near the elevators. This place was a really, really nice experience.
