The prices for the courses vary depending on what you're studying. The course I took was $699 for about 35 hours of live online training with an instructor. For some courses they offer unlimited retakes for up to one year. Make sure you read the fine print to see if your course applies!! I really liked my instructor, Mohammed. He was clearly passionate about his field of study, as evidenced by his seemingly neverending ability to speak on the MANY topics in covered the CompTIA A+. They gave us their massive powerpoint presentation to keep, as well as some additional resources to help study, including an online self-paced video course made by TIA themselves. Those videos are helpful too. As someone who had no IT background besides some small things messing around with my computers, I found this course to be extremely helpful. I do not think the course alone is enough to prepare for the A+, but combined with proper study of the A+ textbook, it will be possible. I will likely be studying with them again for my next IT certification.

Now that I had started graduate school, it kind of hit me that I had to make an intelligent and…read moreproactive leap into the music business before it was too late. I did extensive research online, went to interviews at different art institutions everywhere from Philadelphia to San Diego, and eventually came across The Recording Connection. I was skeptical at first, but after a great deal of thought and research it seemed like the best way to go. So, I went in for an interview with my future mentor over at his recording studio in Times Square. The whole scene was intimidating, but my mentor greeted me with such enthusiasm and a genuine interest in getting me better acquainted with the studio, its gear, and the business itself that I felt almost immediately I had made the right choice. The first few lessons were more a conceptual foundation of recording than hands on lessons, but my mentor made sure to always involve a lot of demonstration with real equipment and movement around the studio to keep me interested. This was perfect because if I'm just sitting in one place I will tend to get bored or distracted. The lessons became much more hands on, and soon I found myself editing audio files, working with clients, assisting sessions, and playing piano for some tracks. I also began working in other events and venues related to the studio such as Webster Hall, where I helped to direct a couple of fashion shows. Being involved in these projects was a crucial part to my understanding of the business (I still have much to learn) because it showed me how all the different spectrums of media are related. Networking is key, and my mentor demonstrated through example. He introduced me to everyone he could at events, and got me involved in any way possible. I did some work in live sound at studio events, and did some editing sound for plays run at Webster Hall as well. I continue to assist sessions for clients, set up mic's, amps, and patch all the lines into Pro Tools, amongst other things. I started doing some producing for clients and in house artists, as well as songwriting for them. One of the clients I assisted sessions for was the VP/GM of the Wu Music Group and CEO of Wu-Tang Latino. Through this connection I am now a member of the band for one of the latest members of Wu-Tang Latino, alongside another Recording Connections apprentice with my same mentor. I will be playing live keys for the band and my fellow apprentice will be on the Drums. At the moment we are starting practice and will begin shows in New York, potentially followed by a tour in South America! Only one year after my decision to join Recording Connections, a whole new career has opened up to me. It is a lot of hard work, but if you truly love and are serious about music, this program is the best way to get real hands on experience in a real setting. At 23, I am truly living my dream; playing music, writing songs, producing arrangements for other artists, and working with top of the line equipment in a premiere penthouse studio in Times Square. Thank you Recording Connections and my mentor for opening the doors.

Course content felt well thought out and organized--nice mix of working on mapped exercises to work on discrete skills with some room to work on any problems or concerns or thoughts you might have brought to class. The supplement files/exercises provided for post-class work are solid as well. I've received a greater amount of content from some places, but the files and materials here were much more workable and better-organized. Classrooms are not glamorous by any means, but they are acceptable. I took the class in early fall, and I would caution that the room was quite warm; somewhat uncomfortably so once it hit midday, even with the giant fan going. So dress lightly. But worth it for the VBA-ducation.

The material covered in the course was uncannily relevant to my business on a day to day basis. I could not speak highly enough of Garfield as an instructor. He effectively explained all material by walking us through each step and using helpful analogies for us to have a stronger understanding of when you would use each tool. As an online course he made sure everyone was engaged and was patient yet timely to reexplain something if people had questions. Garfield was kind enough to make himself available for me after the course as I was struggling with a challenging and important excel file I was working on. He let me share my screen with him and explain what I needed help with. His help with this file and the tools I gained from his instruction very likely are the reason I saved my job. Thank you NYIM and Garfield. If you are looking to increase your excel skills THIS is the company you should invest your time in.

Riddled with typos, grammatical errors, bad 90s clipart (see screenshots), audio tracks with dogs barking in the background, etc. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Also, the chapter quizzes regularly ask questions about material never included in the course! Often times I have to research things on my own and add it to my notes. It's bad enough the quizzes are full of trick questions, making it more difficult. Then you have questions about things never discussed. Someone clearly designed this platform decades ago, parked it, and just sit back and take people's money. I do NOT recommend this school whatsoever.

CAPE SCHOOL actual evaluation=0. I do not recommend taking this course…read more Archaic system, digitally clumsy, UX deficient It may meet state requirements, but it does not meet ONLINE LEARNING standards that most expect when taking online courses. This list below is by no means comprehensive. 1. No instructions, letter or mail packet included with the mailed textbook. 2. No introduction or guidelines on their website to get you into the learning portal. (terrible UX- user experience; very user-unfriendly, no attempt by CAPE to look or feel like a true digital course. The course appears to be input by an admin without any knowledge of how digital communication works. 3. No visual aids (graphs, charts, or graphic-friendly material) 4. "Slides" are a data dump and not fit for presentation. They appear more as an instructor guide to prompt him during a live class lectures. 5. Typos are irritating (needs editing) 6. Errors in materials slow you down and make you question the validity of information in slides; you need to contact the course administrator to verify and hope there are CAPE errors you haven't missed. (see attachment) 7. The term instructor-led is misleading. You get an archaic online chat for one hour a week. If you are on the West Coast and unable to join at 1pm, tough for you. If you try to look at the chat session, it lets you scroll and look for a few seconds b4 jumping back down to the bottom of the thread, so you can't even benefit from looking at what other students have asked. You can contact the instructor directly with questions during off-chat hours, however, this is no-way an instructor-led online course. 8. Quiz and FINAL test feedback is ridiculous: Normally online course offer YOUR answer + the Correct answer and description. NOT CAPE! You get a description only without corresponding answers or any way to remember what answer you gave. YOU CAN request them from the program, but that requires and chat session, an approval processs and time before you can actually get your true results. The output you do eventually get is spot on, so considering they have it in a database, it's a mystery why they don't render it at the end of test-taking sessions. 9. When you take your final, you DO NOT get a pop-up or an email or anything that says "Congratulations for completing the course" with instructions on what to do next. AGAIN, there is no user experience or even common courtesies a user would expect with this "course". 10. There are so many things CAPE could offer if it legitimately spent the time to create a course for real live human beings. The fee they charge to do the program feels more like NMLS-sanctioned theft. BEWARE, you are buying the equivalent of flashcards paired with a timer to make sure you take your time reading them. If you truly want to learn this topic, you will need to make your own learning materials and keep YouTube open on your computer so that someone else, with more digital communication acumen, can explain things better.

Great Customer Service, Amazing Views and Chill Atmosphere!…read more We made reservations for my friend's birthday on 6/28 and this was one of the best overall experiences ever. Caio was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came on to the food and the drinks, he was also very entertaining and had great comedic timing. Camila was attentive, she came over to us and asked how everything was going and continued to check on us throughout the night. Even though it was super busy the staff remained friendly. The food was good, the portion sizes weren't big but were just right. The wings are not jumbo and the Truffle fries need to be tweaked, maybe change the recipe or call it fries with Parmesan cheese. As far as the drinks, the cocktail pouches were a hit. We had 2 each including two additional shots. This place is good for a happy hour, lunch, brunch, date, chill spot, etc. The views of the city were great, it's social media friendly with a lot of picture opportunities, they also have jumbo games such as Jenga, Connect Four and Cards. Overall it was a great night out. As far as the price point, multiple drinks will bring a hefty tab but that goes for most of the city.

Everything was great for us, we truly enjoyed the change of atmosphere and crowd. If you are looking for a quiet place to have a conversation, I would not recommend this place. It's very loud, but in a fun way. Some people brought children, I personally would not recommend this unless you don't mind the drinking, yelling and smoking. Our food was good but the menu could have more dining options. I personally feel this place is catered more to people that are looking to have a light meal with plenty of drink options. It's more of a drink and socialize place. Again we LOVED it, because it was a change of scenery for us. The downside is that there is no restroom within the restaurant. You have to walk outside the restaurant to the end of the dock to use the public restrooms which normally has a very long line. This isn't ideal. Overall great experience. We checked out to the tune of a 200+ bill. The alcoholic drinks were pricey rolling in at $86 before taxes for four drinks.
