The starter was either the salmon or the egg special, which were ok. The main course was the fish and boiled vegetables. To the surprise of 3 of us who ordered the fish, the fish was absolutely tasteless while the little amount of vegetables were so under cooked they were unadable. The plate did not look interesting at all. The service was way below average, that at one point we had to borrow plain water from table next to us. The desert was ok, but nothing special. I would never come back here, unless my main purpose is to be by the bank of a small river.

The seating area outside is amazing, beautiful flowers, Batman in a birdcage (I kid you not), floating lights in vases, their own herb garden, all with some amazing music for atmosphere. I'm not doing this place justice, it is so cool, you just feel a part of something special when you experience this place. The food is traditional Sud-Quest and always seasonal, so the menu will always change. Everything and I mean everything is the best I have tried. For example, the citron preserve in the wild grain rice is so good, I'm currently in the second month of a three month process just to remind myself of this place. I'm that crazy about this place that I'm talking about a citron preserve in their rice, with not even a mention of anything else! Quaint and cozy with only about 10-12 small tables inside and about 5 outside. I had a big breakfast so was not hungry but restaurants close at 2pm so I forced myself to try something new. Since menu was in French, I told waiter to select for me. It was a pre-fixed lunch for 20€ with starter, main, and desert. My final bill came out to 27€ with the added 5€ for wine and 2€ for coffee. I tipped 3€ as not sure how much to tip in France; if you do or not? Food was good, not exceptional where my eyes would roll on first bite, but I was not hungry and I am on a picky side by most standards. Upon sitting, without asking, waiter brought out a free house cold bottle of water. I like this as I hate it when they make you feel cheap for asking for free fountain house water versus pricey bottled water. I drink lots of water so buying bottled water will be pricey for lunch. Service was exception with nice friendly waiters. They don't hover over you with constant pestering of inquires; I was left alone to enjoy the dishes at my own pace. The dishes are nicely decorated similar to a fine dining restaurant, but served by casual friendly down to earth waiters. I feel right at home. Would I come back? YES!! I changed my mind at the end of this review. I change rating from 4 to 5 stars. They deserve it.
