For those English speakers, I'll translate the dishes we ordered for you, as we spent half our time trying to decipher what these dishes were with Google Translate :) Appetizers: - Noix de saint-jacques, gambas, chorizo, morille en cassolette - This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. It was pieces of shrimp and chorizo, and apparently scallops (but I didn't see any in the dish), in a cheese-fondue sauce. I'm not sure exactly it was all cooked in, but imagine a runnier fondue or a thickened chowder, with seafood inside. I loved this, and loved dipping the bread into it. - Foie Gras de canard cuit à basse température aux figues et pain d'épices - I thought I would be getting warmed or seared foie gras, but this was more like a pâté, with figs in the middle, and served with 2 small slices of gingerbread. It was fine, and tasted pretty good when you paired it with the figs, but cold pâté doesn't really do too much for me. Entrees: - Pavé de rumsteack, asperges des Landes, pomme purée à l'huile de truffe - This was a miss for both of us. The steak was overcooked, burnt and pretty dry, and sometimes felt like I was eating beef jerky. I liked the potatoes with truffle oil, but wasn't a fan of this steak. - Daurade Royale cuit au Four, fondue de poireaux et fenouil - This is an entire white fish that is cooked in the oven, served with a leek (I think) and fennel sauce - it was good, and the bones were large enough that the fish was fairly easy to debone. But if you're expecting to get a fillet of fish and don't want to deal wth getting an entire fish, then you may want to get something else. Desserts: - Pain Perdu Brioché à l'Ananas Frais - We both got this dessert, which is almost like a brioche french toast, but a little more dry and no sauce. I don't know why I thought this was bread pudding - it was not. It came with pineapples and was tasty, and not terribly sweet. I prefer chocolate desserts better, but that's just my preference. Overall, it was a fine meal - I liked the shrimp & chorizo appetizer and the fish the best. The other things were just okay for me.

The food here was delicious. I love the bowls of soup the veggies came in. The pigeon appetizer was delicious. The chicken was mouth watering. Stumbled across this place while looking for a few cassoulet restaurants in the area. Enjoyed the…read moreambiance (a mixture of funky, traditional and very relaxed, like Toulouse itself) and decided to stay. The violette kir was delicious and dry and the house red had a good spicy bite to it. Try both of these. Had two salads, one with smoked bacon (lardons) and cheese, which was pretty tasty and the other with tiny whole squids and roasted peppers over a green salad. Both were fine but think that grilling the squids would have really punched up the flavor of the second salad. Mains were cod with chorizo and garlicky pesto served over zucchinis and cassoulet, Toulouse-style. The fish was excellent; nice and light and the pesto had a good bite to it. Would certainly recommend it to someone looking for a filling but non-heavy place. The cassoulet was a bit on the dry side (perhaps the beans are often served al dente?) but the Toulouse sausage was a nice treat. It's not often that one eats a sausage spiced with nutmeg. Dessert was the apple tart with blood orange sauce; a nice light bite to the meal. If one is unsure about what to eat, get the cafe gourmand as it allows you to sample three desserts along with an espresso. Overall, I would certainly come back to try more things on the menu, just to see how it all compares. If they served the cassoulet sausage grilled by itself, would certainly order that. I don't think I'd ever be blown away by this place, but it does appear reliable enough to give you a good meal at a decent price, and sometimes that's all one needs.

I recommend you reserve, this place fills up and it's not big (no claustrophobic either). Mostly locals around us. The decor, food and service were all outstanding, we had a lovely time. I was surprised how quickly we were served, loved that. Courteous and professional. The quality of the food was lovely. There aren't lots of choices, but they're good at what they do. I would have given 5 stars because I love that sort of great value restaurant, but the bathroom was pretty bad. Stuff barely holds together, the ran out of toilet paper and don't store any where you can help yourself, no soap, I wanted to clean the bathroom before I used it. Maybe we caught it at a bad time because the rest of the restaurant and kitchen looked clean, but the bathroom needs more attention than they are giving it. Having said that, I will gladly go again and take friends there too.
