We also caught over 100 perch. The boat is nice size. The boat holds up to 24 people. I never have more than 12 that way it's comfortable. It's very clean. Stu uses high quality rods and reels. His mate Joe is very attentive and patient. He spent some time with ones that have never fished before showing them what to do. Joe also cleaned the Rock Fish for free. Very nice

I payed the security deposit and left a note for Peter Wann about how much we were looking foward to the trip . I booked motel rooms and secured the time off from work . We drove down the night before so as not to be late . We were to be at the dock for a 6 am departure . We were at the dock at 5:15 am and ready to assist or what ever. 6 am came and went as did 7am and 8am. Wann did not answer our phone calls or attemp to contact us . My adult son called numerous times and left voicemails. I called but didnt leave voice mails as I knew they would do nothing to change the situation. He did contact my son somewhere around 330pm that afternoon. My son told him he needed to contact me because I was the one that booked the trip . He didnt. I only heard from Wann Sunday night after I left a negitive review on fishing booking.com. ( they later took it down cleaning up for their clients which are the charter owners ) He offered a free trip ,a reduced cost trip , but he was unable to give back the time that he wasted ! I was willing to stop posting the reveiws untill I saw that it was being white washed by fishing booking.com.I had to get the deposit back on my own Wann said alot and I was willing to let it go but re-visiting the fishing booking.com site I beleive this happens more than just this one time. They categorized the bad reveiws as "Trips canceledby captain" .

The entire 22 man crew had amazing experiences with Capt Drew and his incredible mate Andrew. The good lord blessed us with a picture perfect day, calm winds, blue sky's, and due to the skills on the boat a full cooler. The boat is BIG, hence "THE BIG WORM" lol. Spacious cabin, comfortable seating inside and out. If your fishing with a small or very large party, Drew will accommodate. Unfortunately we did not take advantage of the lunch (bbq) that is available as an up charge for the party. Make sure you inquire about food options!!!! We booked this trip a year in advance and was quoted a price of $1200 for 6 people, and $200 any additional persons. Prior to the fishing trip, I texted the captain several questions to prepare for this trip, he either failed to respond or his response was delayed and lacked clarity. The lack of communication continued before and during the fishing trip. The captain texted me the day before the fishing trip at approximately 7:30 am and told us not to come down to Virginia Beach until we received confirmation from him that evening to ensure the weather was suitable for fishing. I had been checking the weather forecast for several days and it was supposed to be in the 70s, sunny and moderate winds and I conveyed that via text to the captain. What he attempted to do, but failed, is tried to get rid of our group so that he could make more money with another group of 16 versus 7 because the weather the next day was forecasted to be very windy. And the group of 16 was booked to go the day after our trip. When he realized we would not wait until we received confirmation since we were already in route, the captain raised the price to $1800 when he had already quoted us $1200 for the first 6 and $200 for any additional. I'm sure he raised the price to get us to cancel, which we did not do--sorry Captain More importantly, because he had to cancel a bigger group and stick with us, he failed to give us a safety briefing before departure. An epic fail as a Captain. At this point, he could care less about our safety. Money was priority for him. When we returned from the fishing trip, he continued to request more money, only this time, it was for two mates. Everything should have been all worked out before we ever pulled off of the dock. Bottom line, this man lacks integrity, he was rude, and was a male chauvinist. I would not recommend this company for a fishing trip.

All we have to do to get our boat in the water is choose the time we're coming through the app and it's out on the dock. They made it so easy. Bert Jabin's Yacht Yard is organized and clean. The bathhouse near the docks is spotless and has great amenities. They offer laundry facilities, showers, and toilets. Their bathrooms are the cleanest bathrooms I've ever been to. Every time I go, someone is either cleaning them, or has just cleaned them. The only small complaint my father had was he wished they were opened just a little later. The views along the pier are stunning. All the sailboats are so picturesque. It's always a great feeling to walk onto a boat from Bert Jabin's.

We knew plenty of fish was there as there were flocks of birds and about 10 other boats filled with fishermen and fisherwomen. We hit rockfish pot of gold as it felt like the fish were jumping in the boat. At any given time 4-5 lines were bobbing and we were reeling them in. I think our smallest catch was 22in. Too bad there was a 2 person max per day because we met our quota within an hour or less. The only downside was I'm a lefty and they didn't ask prior to in order to have a rod prepped for me. First of all most part extremely chill and helpful fellow anglers here. Also the walk out on the bay, is far enough it gets you to where the action is. Parking is the only challenge. Have caught croaker, spot, bluefish, sea trout here. Have seen stingrays and sharks caught. It's something you won't forget. Wear sunscreen in the summer. I do wish there were concessions, but can't win them all. What matters most is how's the fishing? Pretty impressive. Also a good place to relax as well.
