It's all genuine interest and small talk and a pleasure to be there. They don't charge too much (when I first started going I think it was £5 and has increased over the years to £7) but it's a good solid haircut and they'll really listen to what you want doing. I think more recently I've just had my hair done by Eric here and haven't seen his partner in business around but this chap has had a long life of experience and knows what he is doing, so you're always in safe hands and the shop has a steady stream of clients throughout the day. Moving down to London was hard as I kept having to go back home having not found anywhere down here that was cheap or cheerful or provided a decent cut and service. Luckily I have now, which saves on train fare... but if I'm ever back home and need someone to prune my hair, this is the first place I go!

This is a smart hair salon that my wife uses fairly regularly. I've even used it myself! I'm not…read morenormally one for haircuts generally - I prefer an occasional buzz cut in the nearby barbers - but the reason I used this place was to have a once-in-a-blue-moon decent haircut the day before we got married last year. Being a fish out of water in such places I was treated gently and was very happy with what I came out with. Normally tales of prices in such places terrify me, but I think I paid a fairly reasonable £15 for my cut. My wife gets her hair done there, as I mentioned, and is always happy with what she gets. It can get very busy at times and it's often best to book, rather than just show up. Whether you are a haircut-phobic scruff like me, or someone who enjoys the hairdressing experience, I can recommend this place.

They offer efficient service which is value for money. The loyalty card scheme enables you to have your card stamped each time you have a wash and cut. When you have 8 you get the 9th free. I don't know any other hairdressers that operates this scheme. The stylists here are all extremely talented, especially the one that I use, who I always ask for. If you like to use a salon regularly for youir haircut you can guarantee seeing the same stylist here. This salon is very well run, and efficient. I have gone to many different hairdressers but this is the best by a mile.

The second i went in i was made to feel at ease and i had a nice talk with Gina about what kinda of haircut i would like and what would suit my look. Needless to say my fears were unfounded. I found Gina to be very friendly and also very professional with my hair. it was clearly evident that she had a wealth of experience dealing with different hair types of different races and she showed me which direction my hair grows at ( a mighty problem with people with afro/asian hair) i also found her to be very open minded and a real pleasure to talk to. Ever since i stepped into the salon and had my first haircut i have been smitten. Even though i moved away from Birmingham i find that to this day i try to replicate the same haircut that she gave me. Guys, don't be put off by the fact that she might be busy some days, it only shows that she's a good stylist (and she has a number of v satisfied repeated customers that i personally know of). Thanks Gina for a great haircut.

However I hate it because it's always so busy. This Saturday was no exception as it was really busy in there. I got the impression that they may have been short staffed but I wasn't made aware of any issues. Once seated, I was offered a hot drink and sat reading magazines for around 20 minutes. Once taken over to meet my stylist, she went through the style I had in mind, agreed it would work and then sent me off to have my hair washed before I returned to have it cut. The salon wasn't the most friendly I've ever been in and I wasn't made to feel overly welcome but it was OK for a trim.
