Kyle designed my new house from a SB9 subdivision in San Jose. He is very patient and courteous, very knowledgeable about the city codes, and always responds in time. Kyle was the architect for our remodel project. We expanded our house by adding additional area and changed the layout in the existing area of the house. We selected Kyle after having interviewed several other architects. Kyle is an excellent architect and we were very lucky to get him for our project. Since he was busy with other projects we waited for some time before Kyle could start on our project. Kyle is very professional, detail oriented and thorough. He is extremely knowledgable and experienced in every aspect of a residential project. At our request, he also made recommendations for several good contractors and after interviewing them we selected a contractor from his list of recommendations. Kyle worked closely with us throughout the entire project, listening to our requests and questions, explaining pros and cons of different design / structure / construction aspects. Throughout the planning, design, and construction phases, he checked in with us on a regular basis, answered questions we had along the way and incorporated our feedback. Having Kyle through our remodel project journey from start to end through planning, design, city permit, construction phases definitely gave us a lot of confidence to have it completed smoothly in a timely manner. Big thanks to Kyle, we now have a totally transformed house that we love and enjoy each day ! I highly recommend Kyle as an architect and you will be lucky if you can get him for your project. read more

I was referred to Kyle by one of his clients and my results were as satisfying as theirs. We wanted to add a master suite, relocate kitchen to create an open living space and create a new front entrance. Kyle listened to our needs and made it more beautiful and user friendly than we envisioned. Kyle's design brought a style to our 1956 house and visitors often stated the house feel larger than actual. A few neighbors commented on how nice our new front looks and how nicely it fits into our neighborhood. Now we have finished the construction, I am happy to say there was no surprise - Kyle's design came with all important details such as kitchen cabinet layout which made our construction project so much easier. Kyle made the design/permit process easy. As this is our first remodeling project, Kyle talked us through the whole process in our first meeting. His fee is pre-set and he also made clear there is a separate structure engineering fee in my case. No surprise. He got the city permit without any problem. I would recommend Kyle's work whole-heartedly. read more

After researching and interviewing several other architects we were very impressed by Kyle's honest candor and expertise in this area. As his portfolio was full, we waited patiently for 6 months to finally start our project with him. Anyone getting access to him is truly lucky.. He has the diligence in going several extra miles to satisfy the customer.. He was patient and made several models for us to choose from and additionally came up with any refinements that we sought. Our home was designed both from an external elevation and from an interior harmony in keeping with key elements of Form, Fit and Function.. while fully researching our needs. We are extremely happy in our new home and would recommend him heartily to anyone anytime.. looking for a strong architect with great education and experience in projects both at a large scale and smaller level satisfying all budgets. He is truly the best architect in the S. Bay from our perspective! read more

Kyle was my architect for expanding 3000+ sf feet of my house including a basement in Saratoga. We changed the designs a few times due to some requests from the city planning and my wife's changing mind, he was very professional in laying out the drawbacks and the benefits for each opions so we could make a well thoughtout decision. He tried very hard on accommodating my needs in the rather complicated design (3 structures) and always willing to give me advices on other things outside of the SOW. I interviewed a few other candidates and very happy to picked him over others who offered lower rate. After all, he is a great guy to work with. read more

We had a good recommendation for Kyle from our neighbor, who had also had a construction project done.  We decided to go with him for our project, adding a second story addition on our house.  We were pleasantly surprised. He was very responsive by email and by phone.  He would set up meetings when necessary.  He though through how the house would actually be used, and cleverly turned what might have been a simple functional stairwell into a path that feels open and airy, with great natural light and a place for features such as plants and vases.  He would listen to our wants and needs and provide feedback on what was possible, even making a last-minute change we requested.  He was very helpful in guiding us through this project.  Because of him and our general contractor (whom he recommended), our project was not a mess like some we have heard of, but a great success. read more

Kyle did a fantastic job! He turned our blah ranch into a modern marvel. The focus was on the outside and the interior living spaces, i.e. kitchen, living room, dining room... He created 3 different renditions for us and we ended up going with one of the original designs, no changes. We turned our galley kitchen into an open layout with a big island, open to the dining room, but kept the privacy to the living room. It's perfect for the way we live. Kyle really listened to what we wanted and how we use the space and was able to give appropriate solutions. He also stood by us through the permitting process and was always available for questions. We couldn't have done it without him. He also referred us to an excellent contractor and we're so happy with the whole project. read more

First time house remodel to add a master suite and to expand the living room. Luckily, we had Kyle as our architect and he made the usually painful and complicated process very easy and not worrisome at all. After learning our main goal of the remodeling (adding a new bedroom), he provided us a very practical proposal and patiently explain what we should consider doing and what we should not. For example, while we had a thought of opening up a wall to re do the kitchen, he suggested we might not want to do it as that will significantly increase the scope and the cost of the project due to the percentage of the remodeling area (to the existing SqF). Another case is the skylight window and sun tunnel windows suggested by him. When he had put those items in his design, we had some reservations as we did not see they were necessary. However, he strongly recommended those items and we eventually agreed. It turns out he was totally right. These low-cost items really took the indoor space to a different level. In addition to the design part, he also followed through the project during the whole process. First, he referred many good professionals (land surveyor, structural engineer, green energy expert, general contractor, etc.) that we can trust. This saved us a lot of time and trouble. Also, there were many inspections and related questions we had during the construction. He always answered our questions promptly and professionally. When it was about the time to file documents for the project completion, he also reminded us and checked back with us later. For a house remodel, an architect is definitely a key contractor you need for the first step. We highly recommend Kyle. read more

Our work with Kyle was very smooth. He first gave us 4 draft plans for us to choose from, different style, different budget etc. He then very patiently listen to our thoughts and adjust the plans accordingly. Kyle also gets a bulk idea of each plan's cost, to help us keep our cost in budget. Kyle was very professional, he knows exactly what San Jose and Cupertino city requirements, at what time they will make any changes, what exactly they are changing. He knows everything in his mind that he can tell us right in the middle of our conversation. read more

We did our whole house remodeling and addition with Kyle. The plan include relayout the existing floor plan, changing front entrance and addition of bedrooms and bathroom. At our first meeting, Kyle listens to what we need for our house and honestly suggests what he thinks need to be change and add. Before the design, he came measure our lot and communicate with city to verify setback limitation or maybe other things that we don't know. He is very experienced and knowledgable about all the city requirements. He got us city permit on time without any issue. He provides us 2 option plans at the initial design plan. Kyle does has designer eye and very creative. He is very good in utilizing space. It is impossible for us to have this design layout by ourselves. We feedback to him what we like from the 2 plans. Kyle is very patient during the whole process. I am a very picky and detail person. He provides 100% satisfaction to the design. After we put together the design layout, he also help us to fine tune all the design detail. Ex. I want my walkin closet a little bigger... After interviewing a few in the area, Kyle stood out because he understood our situation and really created the design based on our needs. He's very easy to work with and super quick to respond to all my questions. He is very reachable by a simple phone call. Difficult to connect by phone and non-responsive by email. Contacted Kyle for a new build project. After having one brief conversation (approximately 5-10 mins) with Kyle in the late afternoon during a drive in his vehicle, he recommended that I send him a follow-up email for further inquiries/clarification. It took him 3 business days to reply to the initial email and NO response (10 calendar days and counting) to a subsequent follow-up email for a "next-steps" outline.
