This review is long overdue. Dr. Yee exceeds all expectations. She is warm, intelligent, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and makes you feel like you are her only patient. After years of terrible experiences, I was at the point where I had been procrastinating and fearful of trying to find another doctor. I had been having a variety of health issues, both gynecological and with my kidneys, and I had learned to live with the pain. Dr. Yee showed empathy and concern and provided thorough and thoughtful care -not by just doing the physical examinations and tests, but by taking the time to really talk to me about my health history and what I had been experiencing. She provided a plan and followed up consistently. She referred me when I needed surgery, and helped me when no one, not even a specialist could complete a biopsy. And she listened when I said that I experienced pain the last time and the other doctor dismissed me and said I didn't need pain relief for a procedure because it would be painless, quick and easy. Dr. Yee assured me she could provide some additional measures to numb me and make me as comfortable as possible. I could have cried - to have a doctor who listens and cares this much about their patients is a rare find. Dr. Yee's care resulted in my eventual diagnosis of several issues I was unaware of and needed surgery for. I am now 4 months post op and I just know when I return to Dr. Yee for my future care she will be just as attentive and focused on my experience as she was the last time. Absolutely LOVE Dr. Yee! If I could see her for all of my medical issues, I would! She has followed me over the last 14+ years through all 3 of my high risk pregnancies and doesn't treat me like "just another patient". I feel that it's unprofessional & inconsiderate to cancel appointments where patients have waited for 3 months to see a doctor... particularly when they offer no form of make-up appointment. Perhaps schedule your appointments AROUND your vacation, rather than misleading people & over-booking patients. The staff who called me offered me an appointment in mid-January (so ANOTHER 3 month wait), and there is no accommodation or consideration for the fact that I've already waited 3 months. My appointment was literally next week, and I'm sure the doctor/staff were aware of this vacation before today so I could have received much more notice and scheduled elsewhere. Super inconsiderate & uncaring. These are the things of lawsuits when there is potentially something wrong medically, and these offices keep delaying care. I seriously LOVE Dr. Yee ! I feel like she's super down to earth. She really makes me feel comfortable and I feel like I can be my complete self around her. She's thorough with the routines she gives and after care. At the office I've had weird run-ins with appointments .. like they would schedule me without asking and to me - I just don't want to be charged lol. But I've emailed them about it and we're all good. I've been wanting to change my insurance to kaiser through my job , but it's hard when I've started to like Dr. Yee and the team that assists . If I could give Dr. Kyla Yee and staff a 10, I would! After a month of getting subpar care through multiple avenues and with my gyne issues turning into a nightmare, along with extremely limited access with my previous OB/gyn office, I was desperate to see a gynecologist. So I was shocked to see how easy the online scheduling was for a new patient for Dr. Yee. I got there early for my appointment, and her staff mentioned she would be so pleased to see that her first new-patient appointment for the morning was already here early to get checked-in as she makes it a point to be on time for her patients. The appointment went so smoothly as she took the time to listen to the compounded history, so was able to thoroughly address my multiple issues that had piled on. I was amazed she could do this without making me feel like she was rushed at all, and still be on time for her next patient! I made my appointment with Dr. Yee in December of last year and have still not had the chance to see her as a patient. They schedule you out for a month in advance, which is fine since a lot of gynos seem to have limited scheduling around here. However, she cancelled the day of the appointment and we set it up for another time (again) a month in advance. Now this happened 4 times in a row, and I would understand how she might have emergency procedures due to being an obgyn but now the excuses are because she will be "out of town" multiple times. I really wanted to see Dr. Yee as she practices close to my home, but I see that her office is either pulling a prank on me or she is just not dependable at all. Seek out a different doctor unless you want to be waiting for a year to have one appointment for a simple checkup. read more

Such a disappointment .. I've been trying to get in for about 2 months and got nothing but the run around ... I should've said forget it the first time I walked in. Charlene looked at me up and down and told me they didn't take my insurance and told me to go down the street to the clinic instead of giving me information on what they take , etc.... Instead of getting upset, I tried out the clinic, but being this is my very first pregnancy I wanted a doctor that would attend to my needs, who I am able to call and count on .. The clinic does not provide you with that type of service . I work hard, I'm able to afford insurance so why not get it and be seen by a doctor I heard so many good thing about ? So I called back up there , and the girl on the phone helped me out with letting me know what I needed. I had medi-cal at the time. She told me I would need a different type of insurance. So I got one of the best insurances that I knew she would take. Before doing this , I made sure that it was possible she would still take me . The girl I spoke with first told me she would not turn me down unless I was 33 weeks or more. I am now 31 weeks with the insurance that I got solely for her! So I go back. Charlene gives me a card with the office's number on it and tells me to call it because she doesn't have time to help me. At this point I'm upset. She offered absolutely no help. Another girl comes to the front and assists me , getting my insurance info, and asking questions ; doing the most she can.. Charlene is giving dirty looks the entire time she's helping me like she was disgusted that I was getting help! Budding in saying I'm a transfer and need approval .. Ok why not get it started ?! They take me to the back and ask me questions . The nurse/assistant informs me that Dr.Yee would determine if she is able to see me or not , and if she can't then they would refer me to a prenatal specialist.. Which would have worked for me. They call me back, turning me down .. Telling me to go back where I came from ... Not even suggesting any prenatal specialists ... I didn't pay for this insurance just to go back to a provider who took govt insurance and made me feel extremely uncomfortable / sexualizing my visit... Absolutely not ... Why would I go to a medi-cal provider after paying out of pocket for quality insurance ?? .. I feel that I have been discriminated against and my time has been wasted ... My friend had so many good things to say about Yee.. But even in the emergency room they called her to Talk to me and she never did .. It sucks I have to go thru shit like this my first pregnancy ! Very unprofessional. The dr barely explained me things. I went for a normal check up. I'm new to the area but I went online and saw the wonderful reviews and thought it was going to be great. The secretary never told me the real price of the consultation and at the end they sent me a bill which was twice the price they mentioned to my at the front desk. I was a patient this year during my last pregnancy. I was high risk and was really nervous about it. I have a 10 year old son and was pregnant with twins so needless to say it had been a while since I had gone through one. I felt like it was my first pregnancy all over again. I called the office all the time to ask questions about little stuff that was going on and always received awesome help. I was never made to feel like my questions were a bother. Best OB I have ever been to! I have been seeing Dr. Yee for the past (about) 4-5 years. I have been to many other OB's in the past and had a few horrific experiences, so going to an OB has always been traumatizing for me. Not Dr. Yee though. The first time I was ever seen I instantly felt comfortable and at ease. I explained to her that I have had bad experiences in the past and she was so sympathetic and insured me she would walk me through everything and make sure I was comfortable. Now I am pregnant with my first child, and I love our appointments. She is so open to any questions (including the embarrassing ones), and also gives very honest and useful advice. Another thing I love about her is being that this is my first pregnancy, I have heard from so many people "you shouldn't eat this or that, or you shouldn't do this or that"... She is so laid back and is not aggressive with the do's and don'ts. She wants you to be comfortable and eat things in moderation, but don't deprive yourself (i.e. I've been wanting lunchmeat sandwiches.. and was told by numerous people I couldn't eat lunchmeat. Dr. Yee said as long as its a reputable deli and clean, all is good and to enjoy sandwiches). I love this Dr. and will never go to another OB if I can help it! read more

I love Dr. Yee! I began seeing her in 2009 during my first pregnancy. I was recommended to her by my sister-in-law, who is also a patient of hers. She is extremely professional and friendly. I call her office all the time with questions since I'm high-risk and I worry about almost everything. They never act like my questions are stupid and I'm always treated with respect. I don't even feel like Dr. Yee is my doctor. She's extremely personable and talks to you like you're one of her friends. Her office staff is wonderful as well. They are always on top of any authorizations I need and I never wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room. I actually have been wanting to switch my insurance HMO group to John Muir instead of Sutter Delta, but Dr. Yee is the reason why I haven't done that.
