The hot food they had was maybe a quarter of what Kwik Trips usually do, and the selection was poor. It probably didn't help my case that it was around 9p at night, and there isn't a lot of hot food that the employees would probably keep stocked for a sleepy little town like this, but some variety would have been appreciated. There was a choice of an Angus hamburger, a spicy chicken sandwich, and a fish sandwich, so nothing that great if you wanted something a little less filling. The employees were a little interesting too- I tried to make small talk as the cashier rang up my order, but he just looked from me to the food and then said my total without saying anything else. Maybe it was near the end of his shift and he was just tired, but the whole interaction was just a little weird to me. The other two employees were behind the counter, one stocking cigarettes and the other on her phone, and they all seemed to be just passing time before their shifts were up. So, if you need a quick stop for an energy drink or a hot sandwich, this place isn't bad. If you're looking for something like a normal Kwik Trip with a lot more selection and attentive employees who will help you find anything you need, you may need to look elsewhere down the road.

Due to heavy advertising I checked the meals to go section and found what looked like a reasonable price but on closer look see that you have to buy two per person to have a decent meal. You've seen the ad spoken in Millennialish; "..so I was like ok what's good?" And he was like tender fried chicken", "and I was like.." I did see hard to resist pies in full eye range near check out. Apple and Peach is your choice. Yes, Kwik Trip does have some good things to eat.

It took awhile to check out due to a problem with their software for gas payments. The young clerk made a mistake in which pump gas was paid cash in advance for and it took a good 20 minutes to correct the error due to the software safe checks and security..all in all looks like a friendly place.

Heck, after they take their 95 yr old patriarch out for Sunday dinner, they come back to open the store for late arrivals to town that might need something last minute. They had the larger bottles of water for $1.25 each. Additionally, they have snacks, souvenirs, hair care, skincare, Tylenol, greeting cards, puzzles, books and magazines. Everything is very appropriately priced. I just didn't notice a lot of trial sized products, everything was full sized. If you happen to need something in Rochester, the Eagle Store will likely have it.

Also, watch out for the half-and half dispenser. Nearly always the nozzle is bent/pointed towards you--not down--and when you push it, it sprays the cream AT YOU. They have ice cream (ice cream truck- individually packed options) energy drinks, soda, chips, coffee, fresh donuts (delivered daily), candy, greeting cards, and so much more. They also have a microwave, which is nice if you buy a packaged breakfast sandwich or something that needs to be warmed up. It's a small store but they have A LOT! Prices are the same as shopping at any other corner store or gas station. I love that they are open early (usually around 630). The store is always clean and organized. Staff are super friendly and nice. Just outside of the store they have seating via wooden table and chairs or just downstairs couches, more tables and chairs. They prefer you use cash but they do accept cards.

There is a hot made fresh counter and a nice selection of ready made to go items. Rows and rows of heavy bread sandwiches and even some types of pasta salads and some pastry. Yes, give me coffee after hiking the Fortenac State Park trails. There are two rows of air pots with different roasts, some flavored, and decaf and dark. There is a limited selection of groceries on the spacious floor. How did I end up way over in Goodhue? There is a massive detour for Highway 61 which sends us on older highways and some scenic county roads. There are some tables outside with no shade with a view of the grain elevator, and more interesting a view of the historic restored train depot.

Plenty of trucks and motorcycles stopping by. They sell food and drinks also. In the bag they have live bait I believe. I'm not a fisherman so I don't know about these things. Excellent location. The parking is not huge so customers are even parking on the side of the streets and coming in. Women's restroom was broken so there was a line at the men's room for the women to go in. The place was relatively clean.
