Could not believe my bad luck with the screw. I was panicked. What in the world was I going to do? Thankfully, my friend suggested that I take my car to Westside 66. I actually looked at him like he was crazy because it was a Sunday afternoon. He assured me they were still open. I have to confess that I did not entirely believe him. LOL. He said, "They can fix it in 10 minutes and it will cost you about $16." Yeah, right. So I headed Westside 66 and kept my fingers crossed. The cashier told me to pull around back and they would look at the tire. Honestly, within ten minutes... the tire was fixed and it cost $16. I could not believe my good luck on finding this place. The mechanic who worked on my tire was nice, professional and he knew exactly what to do to get me fixed. He did not waste time with small talk and he got me right on my way. The cashier was very nice and courteous. She, too, was professional and very helpful. I appreciate her guidance. I asked her if they had been busy and she said it was a slow day for them. It was hard to believe it was a slow work day because both bays were filled and other cars were lined up for service. I will definitely go back to this station for service. I had counted on being there for hours but it was quick, efficient, professional service. WOW. Still cannot believe my luck with this wonderful shop.

The HyVee Fuel Savers program is not as good overall as the one at Dillons, though. HyVee gives you rewards on only certain items you buy. Dillons gives rewards on how much money you spend at the store. Don't get me wrong- there have been some great savings at HyVee. The difference in the programs is slight. The cashiers and staff are very friendly and the store is all sparkly clean. They also have convenience store pizza!! It's a favorite. Great pizza, price-is-right gas, and great customer service.

That being said, despite some wear and tear, it's still a very solid gas station, and they've added some modern QT additions to it, like QT kitchen, which makes it little extra nice when you are on the road. This location has seen me through my college days, and honestly still is my go-to when I'm in and around Lawrence and in need of gas. On my most recent visit, I was driving home from a family gathering in Manhattan, and we all treated ourselves to little milkshakes. Honestly they are really decent little treats for a gas station.
