Top Gear has it all: car accessories, mag wheels, tires, a full range of polishes, even 45000 colours of car paint. They have access to a full workshop so when I had my tires replaces I literally got it all done in a morning. You should probably spend more time waxing that new job more than you wax your car, but if cars are your thing you can find most kinds of car care material at Top Gear. And the lights and sound are amazing: they also have a good range of kit that will enable you to pimp your ride. So, even if you do spend your last £50 on new speakers, at least you'll have something to listen to while you're stuck on the highway with no petrol.

My wife rang them on a Tuesday morning and they said to just bring the car down and they'd look at it. But when I took it down at about 2pm they said I'd have to book it in for another day, as my wife should have been told on the phone to bring it in before 0930 am, as they require a full day to diagnose aircon problems. I booked it in for the Thursday morning. (they're open 0830 1730) They called me at about 0230 pm to say it was ready for collection. £49.99 excess charge for the work . Aircon is now working again. Fairly friendly and helpful staff, no fuss. Would use again.

With the work done I picked up my car to find play on the hand brake and the car failed again-on the hand brake. Took the car back and after 13 hours and no call to say sorry-ready tomorrow,I finally picked it up with a 30 pound charge for adjusting the hand brake cable-which should have been done on day one and all the time the staff were trying to blind me with mechanical science. On taking my car back for the re-test,it failed on-guess what? Yes the hand brake. It had not been adjusted to the mot requirements. I thought Halfords being a nationwide company and big name would be a safe choice but after my experience would not take a toy car to them.
