Our landlord then had the audacity to sue us instead of letting us leave peacefully even though, according to Philadelphia law, we had every right to break our lease. This resulted in us, with the help of Mr. Copoulos, filing a counterclaim. Throughout the entire filing-continuance-time consuming performance that reporting to court ultimately becomes Mr. Copoulos was easy to communicate with and constantly kept us abreast of any and all changes. Come time for court, which actually ended up going to trial, Mr. Copoulos genuinely exceeded my expectations with his line of questioning and cross-examination of both myself and my landlord. It was a tough case and I actually thought my landlord's lawyer bested me a few times but Mr. Copoulos was able to call bullsh&t and we came out on top. We were awarded our counterclaim and my landlord had to walk away with an extremely salty, yet magnificently sour face. Needless to say I was very pleased. It is worth mentioning that even if Mr. Copoulos had lost our case, he still would have gotten a five star rating as he really does know his stuff and seems to be an all-around solid guy. Plus, I found his cost to be beyond reasonable and that always helps. Bottom line: if you want great representation for a reasonable fee, go with Mark D. Copoulos.

You can just tell that he's a good guy. He laid out all requirements to me and also the estimated timeline for the courts to process it. I suggest that if you're looking for an attorney in Philly for landlord / tenant disputes, that you look no further than Mark. I hope I don't need a landlord/tenant attorney again, but if I do, Mark is the only person I'm calling.

We hired the Ko Firm for the purchase of our home and we couldn't be happier with the experience…read more Harry Ko and Tom Szieber guided us every step of the way through the tricky closing process, and made sure that they were always there for us when we ran into an issue or had a question. Harry's wealth of experience in residential and commercial real estate was reassuring as it was impressive. He was able to anticipate and warn us of all of the gotchas and pitfalls well before we came across them. He tackled some of the trickier negotiation points with ease and prepared us early with advice that proved to be a big help further along in the process. This was huge for us, as this was our first time buying a house and had no prior experience whatsoever. Equally impressive was the teamwork and coordination between Harry and Tom, as well as Legal Assistants Sarah and Barbara. Whenever we emailed or called anyone at the Ko Firm, they always seemed to all be on the exact same page. What stood out to me, however, was the incredibly friendly and down-to-earth manner of everyone at the Firm. I really felt that everyone had our best interests in mind and that they were looking out for us. It's not at all what you would expect from a typical lawyer. As someone who previously worked at an AmLaw 100 firm, I can tell you that this balance of experience, professionalism, and empathy is extremely rare in this industry. I would recommend the Ko Firm wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a real estate attorney in this area. At the very least, if we ever run into a need for legal services or advice, Harry and his team will be the first ones to get my call.

If you're in business, you need an attorney. Why? Because sometimes (sometimes) bad peeps try to…read moretake advantage of you. So for the record, Gary Schafkopf (funny name, right?) is worth his weight in gold, if you hire him to litigate. He is familiar with every aspect of business law, he can negotiate successfully on your behalf with collectors (big $$$), he scans and digests difficult-to-understand contracts for you BEFORE you sign, to make sure that you are protected and not at risk. He has now moved into federal cases and civil rights law. Did a builder screw you on the purchase of your dream home with shoddy construction? Did a police officer beat you or someone you love? Were you falsely arrested or tased? Were you scammed when making a large purchase on the internet? Is someone harassing you day and night for a debt that you really don't owe? Do you need an agreement between you and your partner in a new business? Do you have a real estate contract dispute? Were you verbally promised substantial commissions and cannot collect from your employer? Were you discriminated against because of your color, race or religion? Were you thrown off an airplane, but you are innocent of the charges brought against you? The list goes on and on, there are too many cases here to list. I have referred Gary to more people than I can count for more different areas of law than you can imagine. He is completely unafraid to go to trial, and the opposing side knows it. His rates are fantastic and he is usually flexible on payments, too. I highly recommend Gary and have had nothing but success with his history of win-wins for me. and my business/s.

And now he didn't even want me to reach out for a witness or read over my paperwork to help me. They said they dont care and hung up on me after I did all the work they asked me to do since August!
