My mother-in-law had decided to end all furth medical interventions & it was decided that hospice was needed. GG stepped right up to the plate & knocked out a home run with her exceptional leadership in getting our loved one the care she needed. From minute #1, the staff not only treated her like family, but also my wife and I. My wife was having a mental health crisis because she felt she was not good enough of a daughter because she couldn't make her mother all better. GG and the CNA that was with her stepped right up and did everything they could to reassure both my wife and myself. From the day my mother-in-law was put in their care to the night my mother-in-law passed away, ALL of the ladies were there every step of the way. The level of care and compassion that the staff of High Desert Hospice showed from start to finish was so amazing and beautiful. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Oh dear. I came here because it was required by my surgeon. I'm having a major surgery and the…read morehospital requires a psych evaluation to make sure I'm mentally ready for potential complications of this surgery. My eval comes in two steps: first, I came in this morning to take several tests and later today I will meet with the psychologist for a face to face. At first I thought this place was kind of cool. The place is called the Center Through the Looking Glass and everything is vintage Alice and the rabbit themed. It went downhill pretty quickly from there. The receptionist/office manager is horrible. Rude is an understatement. First she put me in a private room to take my exams and immediately had an issue with which side of me I put my own purse on the floor when she wouldn't even be in the room. Um... okay? Then, a few hours later, she puts a walk-in guy in my SAME private room where we are talking HIPPA stuff to do his testing because she "doesn't have another room" in a building full of empty rooms. When I asked her about it politely, she told me to get over it because they do it all the time. Then I think maybe this is some kind of test because this new guy has a major cold and can't stop sneezing and coughing. Um... a pre-surgical patient with no immune system. I CANNOT get sick and I drove all the way from Albuquerque from this! I tell her this and she makes a big thing about how she has to move him into the waiting room. She was also supposed to ask the psychologist some stuff for me about the testing that she didn't know to instruct me but she was too busy making personal calls to do it. If I didn't need this surgery to literally save my life, I would have walked out. I cannot stress this enough: avoid this place at all cost. I hate that I have to go back later for the second part. I came back for my second part of the eval and Dr. Greer was pretty great. But good old Leigh was still here and just as snarky. If she wasn't here, I would give them 5 stars but she's horrible to deal with.

HIPPA laws do not require a patient to be present to collect a new patient packet. HIPPA also states that if my son needed help filling out his paperwork that legally, I can do that as his representative. She would not budge and kept insinuating I was attempting something illegal. It was not a pleasant experience at all

She is a skilled, active listener. She has great instincts as a diagnostician. (In fact, she deduced that i had a profound vitamin deficiency causing extreme exhaustion/lethargy which was being missed by both my Internist and Cardiologist.) i find MS Fee to be very empathetic. At the same time she abides no B.S. In that vein, i've experienced her refusal to participate in a 'pity- party' i was trying to organize during one session. She is open, direct, honest, caring, and thorough. What more can you ask for in a counselor? And i would add, the receptionist is anything but rude and and non-responsive. If you watch closely, she's just busy as hell.

Once my friend began having serotonin syndrome and black box warning syndrome Denise did not know how to assist and instead made it my friends problem by excusing her from the practice with generic resources to the county mental health affiliates. Denise also did not want to prescribe further medications. This is unprofessional and unethical and Denise can cause further issues. The lack of understanding medication and behavior and how it works is not well understood here. I do not recommend a DNP or any type of nurse practitioner to be prescribing medication to patients when they cannot understand the DSM or chemical components of medication. This practice lacks vigilance in their prescription writing.
