From the minute you walk in to her office, it's so obvious that this is not just another dentist. The atmosphere is calming, not jam packed with patients twiddling their thumbs waiting to be seen. The appointments are prompt and all the staff incredibly welcoming. The technology used is top notch. Dr. Myers is warm and personable. She actually sits with you, listens to you, explains things completely and comes up with an actual game plan. Then she shows you on the computer screen what is going on with your teeth, jaw, whatever your problem might be. If you're skeptical at all, seeing is believing, and that's what she does. She told me I was not a lost cause and she could correct my TMJ and my headaches would finally go away. She was right!! I started on her plan with a bite splint the end of Sept. 2019. It is now just the end of November 2019 and I am nearly finished with my bite correction. Prior to seeing Dr. Myers, I had headaches 5-6 and sometimes 7 days a week. When I first started with the correction, my headaches did not go away immediately, but they reduced pretty quickly to just a few days and now I am waking up headache free every morning! What a difference it makes! I am so thankful to have found Dr. Myers and I tell everyone I know, don't even bother looking for anyone else. They botched a procedure and the repeated issues since have not been remedied. I thought continuing to go back since it is the same issue with where it occurred was a good idea, but not so much. I paid for the initial procedure and never asked for a refund, even paid for the first couple of fixes, after a while I didn't see how I or my insurance should be responsible to pay for fixes on something that was their doing. The hygienist rescheduled my cleaning so I would not have to wait an extended period after the treatment plan changed. At checkout, the front desk told me the hygienist was not allowed to make that change and that I would be charged a same-day cancellation fee. When I questioned this, I was called argumentative and was refused the opportunity to speak with a manager or someone else in the office. Another patient in the lobby overheard the conversation and made a comment that I had done nothing wrong and the girl treated her similarly. I completed the patient survey and requested a call back to discuss my concerns, but never received a response. I ultimately decided to get a second opinion, and I'm glad I did, as another issue was identified that had not been brought to my attention during my visit. The combination of poor communication, lack of follow-up, and concerns about my overall experience is extremely disappointing. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and works to improve the patient experience moving forward.

Two other dentists were pessimistic about their ability to fix it with bonding, without substantial removal of tooth structure. As I am blessed with overall healthy and pretty teeth, I resigned myself to just live with it. While it was barely noticeable to others, it was a substantial source of frustrating, near-constant physical discomfort for me. After moving to San Antonio, I wondered if this practice could help me out. Dr. Beckel saw me for what I assumed would be just a preliminary consultation, and he convinced me to let him fix it right then and there! I got the sense he could tell it had really been bugging me a while, and wanted to make it better. I felt his communication was good and his bedside manner really excellent. He gave the problem a lot of thought personalized to my specific case, and was optimistic--but realistic--about his ability to fix it with as microscopically minimal enamel removal as possible. After just a few minutes, I got handed a mirror and was stunned to see a tooth that looked genuinely as good as new. It was actually a bit shocking, in a good way. I am truly amazed by the appearance of this bonding. Gangs of New York style doctors. I am a Texan who went to this business as a child growing up and then my doctors retired. I recently found a WOMAN who has been a dentist for over 25 years who was nice to me. She just gave me a night guard and sent me on my way. These doctors want us to pay them lots of money and they dont actually want to save your teeth. I know that because the doctors that used to work at this place named Lutrell and Gomillion told me dentists like to have you with bad teeth so they can make money. Don't trust dentist, vets and doctors always. Especially when they are mean to you and don't care about you at all. Like these men acted randomly towards me. As a mom and as a lady? I have never felt such disgusted and disdain as both of these dentist acted towards me just for being late driving in to an appointment. I was shocked the ladies working there for 20 years did not get vacations and bonuses. If the men took over that office go ask them if they got anything for Christmas the first 3 years. Instead of vacations they didn't get anything and I asked them. I asked the short doctor if he gave them anything there is a photo right there of the employees in Hawaii and my previous doctor did that. He said oh maybe we should do something- this was 3 years into their takeover. I have a great woman who has been doing teeth for as long as Gomillion and Luttrel and literally went to high school with their employees. I had my child and my mom's birthday and frankly they could have just said nice words. But only those who are nice and have nice people skills are capable of doing that.
