I went here last week to see a Joan Baez concert. The concert hall is really, really amazing. First of all it isn't massive (not sure how many it holds) so it seemed to me that there wasn't a bad seat in the house. There was also a balcony in the back but again, not sure how big and how many that held. But the seats were so comfortable and the best thing was that I had my camera with me and the security/ushers didn't seem to care that I or anybody else was taking photos.
The building also has a bar just outside the concert hall, on the second floor. There is also a restaurant with a terrace but we didn't eat there, so cannot comment on the food. There are also exhibition halls, or at least one, where the terracotta army exhibition is going on. They will also be doing the play Mama Mia soon so am assuming that this will be in the concert hall as there is also a nice stage for plays.
One of my favorite bits was in the lobby; there is a golden grand piano and a golden Marvin Gaye sat there playing. Marvin spent a couple years in this seaside town in the early 1980s. read more
