Um, this isn't a dive bar at all…read more AT ALL. This place is a fair trade restaurant located in a cultural exchange centre, and it happens to have a full bar. Oh, and they have a beer garden during the warmer months. The food, with commendable vegetarian options, is good and moderately priced, but won't blow you away. The wine selection here is spartan, but is also moderately priced. What's special about this place is the diversity and colourfulness of character of the patrons. If ever you are invited to spend an evening here with friends, make sure to accept, as you're sure to meet some interesting humans. This doesn't really strike me as the place to go alone to meet new people, but that could just be me. Added bonus: browse the informational pamphlets in the foyer. You just might find an activity or way to get involved in Munich that really speaks to you!

The venue is hidden among the stack of cargo containers. Once found, one is in for a treat of eclectic and eccentric art installations (e.g. a cable car attached to the ceiling or chair fixed to the ceiling). A bit of a hodgepodge but amusing to see. We went there for a DJ set, and there was ample space to move around (and there were people). Music wasn't too loud and overall it was a good time. Would definitely check this place out again for other events (concerts or theater performances).

You see…read morethe crematorium and some rebuilt barracks and a lot of history of the first concentration camp. Our tour guide was very good and seemed to enjoy his job. The tour does not take you to some of the areas, but there are plenty of displays in those as well. The visitor center is also pretty nice and helpful service. Worth a half day trip while in Munich.

I have been to other camps around Europe, but this one was larger than the others that I've seen. They all are similar in that it is very sobering and sad to walk amongst these sites where so many atrocities occurred. It's insane to visit a place like this and to realize there are people on this planet that believe this is fake and never happened. It's free to enter and is a short drive from Munich. There are many different buildings and outdoor areas to walk amongst, the main ones being the small museum, the barracks, and the worst of all which was the gas chamber. This place is absolutely packed with history and is a very important educational experience for everyone. It's important that these crimes aren't forgotten and hopefully prevented in the future. It's honestly a sad visit but I would definitely recommend that everyone should visit this site at least once. Understanding history is the best way to prevent it from occurring again so it's really important that these lessons aren't forgotten and that these victims are remembered.

It is a historic opera house, home of the Bavarian State Opera, Bavarian State Orchestra and the Bavarian State Ballet. We went to see the performance of Ana Karenina by Tolstoy as a ballet performed by the Bavarian State Ballet and it was an amazing experience. Would come back here for more anytime. The crowd is both high-brow and deeply passionate (watch out when Edita Gruberova sings... these well-heeled Müncheners will scream like its a rock concert). While the productions follow the current European trends ("Regietheater" aka "Eurotrash"), the performers themselves span from veteran legends to the hot and up-and-coming. At the interval, don't miss the lovely buffet downstairs, and be sure to try the hedonistic "Rote Grütze" (red summer berries drenched in vanilla sauce). You certainly won't find that at the Met!
